Some of you long time guys might remember I drove the X3 prior to its release.
I was fortunate enough to be invited back by BRP and was able to drive the Maverick R a couple of days ago.
Here's a quick overview.
The new Car is better than the X3 by a wide margin.
The DCT was very impressive.
The power was good and likely just ahead of a new X3.
My 2018 with a tune is slightly slower than a new X3 and I suspect seat of the pants this is a little quicker than a new x3.
The shocks were live valve and it was impressive.
Zero steering wheel feedback on this machine any X3 owner knows that's an issue on the x3.
I spent about 50 miles driving it at Standard wash in LHC.
You have 3 canned performance settings and one custom, each changes transmission, motor, steering and shocks, you can override any of them you wish and make a custom setting you like.
Shifting by paddle I suspect will not be a thing very often the computer does it very well.
I have a Mercedes AMG with a DCT and the settings are very similar to that car, they must have looked at cars with a DCT and mimicked some of the features.
I suspect its going to be a winner in Glamis!
