This right here... the dems and her staff wanted her to go a while back and not let her seat wait until teh election. It wouldn't surprise me if we eventually found out there was someone with a pillow...

Sure the dems wanted her out because she was old, senile and couldn't do her job. But her staff, who really like their jobs and the benefits that come with it are the ones  that kept her propped up. Many of them have been with her for decades and are now out of work.

Will be interesting to see who gets appointed.  Kind of a short time period as her term was up next year and whoever it is will be leaving their current job with no guarantee they will still be employed in January 2025. 

Also, it's interesting is that Newsom has appointed the last 2 CA senators although Padilla did win the last election for a full term.

Kamala will resign as VP, Newsom will name her to the Senate. Michelle Obama will run with Biden. They'll win. Biden dies or resigns. First black woman President.

The Dems would not let McCarthy in the White House and that is who would be on deck in that situation Now if Pelosi was still in charge over there, they would try a stunt like that. Again it's not a win for anybody

She was basically the least radical ca govt official left.  We should all be shocked that a person entered politics in 1969 right after college and managed to amass a estimated for sure net worth of 90$ million dollars, with forbes saying her actual net worth could be as high as 200$ million.

nope, totally normal, no corruption. Govt officials are just the best stock and land investors ever

Its california, anyone appointed will have the job for the rest of their lives as long as there is a D next to their name. 
probably earn a modest 100$ million in 20 years

 
I can only imagine the offers coming across Newsome's desk for her replacement.
