Just curious if any gd.com members goto this? It’s a 64 mile poker run based out of the concrete plant just south of town.. the course has a wide variety of terrain that varies from smooth washes to rocky AF..

Weirdly the only car I have ever successfully ran the whole course on without breaking something is my speed.. lol. Granted we always get home under our own power.. usually broken axles or flat tires etc.

Tickets can be bought here!

That looks fun. You involved in this at all? Or just enjoying the day for once! 😜

May bring the Rzr 200 for the kids to drive. All the kids camp rides were really popular last time.

Do they have actual
Organized rides for the kids? Mine just run around that little canyon and up on the hills with all the other kids down there..

Looking forward to seeing you out there! It’s been awhile!

No organized ride that I know of but the kids had a blast with yours and a few of the others in the camp track. I vaguely remember you and me blasting around in yours too.

Just went thru the rules and info. Says no open campfires. Funny seeing the photos above :)
If a newbie wanted to partake, what all would one expect and need.
I see there are check points but is the trail marked. Lets say no GPS on board. Is this poker run possible?

As a pure sand junkie, having spare tires, parts, fuel etc for a desert run doesn't seem realistic or safe.

Yeah I dunno about no open campfires.. LOL. That would be a new one for sure because everyone has campfires?
The trails are marked, but if you aren't used to open desert you could pretty easily miss a turn. The upside is there is 250 cars going at all sorts of different paces so you will always see some people out there. I don't have a GPS in my Speed yet and I'm not worried about it.

The run is usually between 64 / 75 miles so you should make it on a single tank of gas.. We don't bring extra fuel, but we make sure we are topped off before leaving. There is a lot of carnage depending on how fast you drive.. Like I said in the first post ironically enough my speed car is the only car I have successfully done this run in and not broken anything. Everything else I have come back with broken axles, etc.. A lot of people get flat tires from sliding into sharp rocks etc.. We drive out here all the time so we have kinda adapted where that doesn't happen as much to us.

If you haven't done it, I'd highly recommend coming out for it, as it is a blast!!
