I've seen a few past threads on hot knifes and razor knifes used to trim paddle tires.

Came across this video and wanted to share it here.

This sure seems like the easy button for the issue.

Anyone else tried this method?

These Multi tools are amazing!

So, that looked easy. I've always sent my tires to Parkhouse to get shaved, maybe I'll try it myself on the next pair.

Tire suppliers like STU are behind on orders and will not supply tires cut. Resellers have to have their own tire shops cut them before the sale to the end user. If your waiting on tires, this may be the reason and this method of shaving/cutting sure looks easy.

Fast forward to 3:30 to see the cutting. One thing I noticed is he mounted and inflated the tire. Might be good to note as the tire would be at its inflated size before you start cutting and it might help with the cut and having the radius there to get under the paddle with the multi tool blade.

Fullerton Sand Sports buffed my paddles down to nuthin between the paddles.

Worked freaking awesome. 👍

Put them in front of a propane heater first. The warm rubber cuts like butter.

20 years ago I worked for Mark at STU. We cut/grooved the paddle tires one at a time...
