Took my neighbor’s new toy (Fully enclosed Ranger) out for a cruise and ran into this guy. We were out in the desert (roughly 12 miles from my house), snow was about 10”, not much for this time of year.

I’ll try to post the video as well showing where the dunes are (roughly 7 miles to the Southwest.

We’re in Saint Anthony ID. About a mile East of the city limit.

If you want to zero it in Google “Del Rio Bridge, Saint Anthony” and expand the aerial map, we’re about three or four properties upstream on the right, look for the pond closest to the river (my downstream neighbor has a pond as well).

Don't they migrate every year through St. Anthony's dunes?

Yep, to Juniper Flats, right next to the dunes. This guy is about 7 miles away…

First reaction, grab the camara. Then the thought of survival starts to come to light. My wife and I were on bicycles in Homer and came upon a mother and 2 pups. Did the same thing, grab the camara. Then realize mom is paying too close attention to us, we leave. Got some good picture though.

This is an Elk my neighbor got two weeks ago in the same spot…

Love seeing wildlife in their natural environment!!!! We regularly see foxes, raccoons, deer, etc.  Last week we saw a river otter playing on our dock!  I was super stoked as I have seen 'him' playing and catching fish, but never out of the water. He was looking 'plump' so definitely better at catching fish than I am......
