Awhile back, I had a mid-engined Corvair powered rail. My neighbor had an extra engine and I jumped on it. It came w/Corvair suspension. I sold everything else but the suspension.
I did a cleaning last week and took 2 Chevy rear axles and the Corvair suspension to scrap. Me and my son could lift the axles in to the trailer w/o to much trouble. They were 10-bolt Chevy....one w/axles and one w/o....no drums. We could barely lift the Corvair....it was A-arms, axles, sub-frame. The coils were extra. There were no drums. We cut it in to 3 pieces and each weighed at least 50#, maybe 75# (based on how it compares to a 40# wood pellet bag).
At the yard, I had 460#. Any possibility that the Corvair stuff weighed about 200#?
