A recent post about Ted Nugent made me dig out my concert ticket stash.  I miss the days of standing in line at Music Plus for a wrist band or waiting at the mail box for an actual concert ticket.  This is my stack of classic tickets with highlights.  I have another stack with full page printed tickets but they just don't feel nostalgic.  What do you got?

Used to have a bunch hanging on my shop fridge but they faded over the years and I finally tossed them.

I am a concert nut and LOVE the ticket stubs. You should mount them on a board and frame with some molding  / clear with modge podge and hang up and display in garage. Take a digital photo of each ticket before you mount them

VERY COOL / Wish I still had all mine!!

:poule:

My old buddy from growing up, we went to A LOT of shows.  He still goes to as many shows as he can and has always saved his stubs.  He has file card boxes full and he catalogs them by day.  It's fun watching him pull them out on certain days and post them on FB.  "Hey, I remember that show!"

I have never saved anything in my life, especially not these. I used to trade my sports cards for the bubble gum. That's how dumb I am. Now that I'm old and looking back I wish I had kept some things.

Super Cool topic.

I know I have concert stubs in a box, along with other items you pick up at a concert. When yore young and "Alive" all that stuff means something and captures a moment in yore youth.

About almost 10 years ago now, my buddy from HS Randy passed way, he had a stroke that was out of the blue and devastating to us all. His family was crushed to the core, in particular was his niece, whom I never met until the wake services. She told me how she loved the same music Randy did and how one of his favorite concerts was one he went with me back in the summer of 1990 when we graduated HS at Dodger stadium.

The next day I gave her the ticket stub and concert program from that concert, it meant everything to her.

My kids will get all kinds of stuff someday, I hope it means everything to them too. If not sell it on eBay

I had a shoebox full of concert ticket stubs from my first one in 79 until sometime in the mid 2000's, It was at that point I went looking for said box and could not find it anywhere. I know I wouldn't of thrown it out but can't say the same for other people who were living here at that time.

Even had a unused  one for a Guns & Roses show that was supposed to happen at a tiny bar "The Mason Jar" GnR played Tucson and were on the way to the Jar when they found out how small it was and how it had a pole right in the middle of the stage, They also found out that was the end of the club tour and would be going out on a real tour playing arena's opening for Iron Maiden i think, So they cancelled the night before.  They were offering refunds for the tickets but I couldn't find mine, which would of really sucked if the concert had actually happened.... Well later on I found it and Franco ( Bar Owner and notorious cheapskate) said it was passed the time he was doing refunds............

Trust me when I say I snuck into his bar enough times over the years to of not cared about the 15 or 20 dollar ticket price.

The ones I really wished I had from that bar was

Pearl Jam

Nirvana ( heard 10 people were in the bar but you can easily find 100 who were there.)

STP

RHCP- They played a lot with The Meat Puppets

and just for the ticket itself

The Gay Nazi Bikers From Hell,  That was actually Lynch Mob's first show ever and that was the name they used to not pack the bar, that was packed anyway once word got out.

Yore post made me think of two concerts.

Pearl Jam, Nirvana and RHCP at the Forum. PJ got booed off the stage, N killed it and RHCP had a good show.

Butthole Surfers, fIREHOSE and Stone Temple Pilots at Castaic Lake....That one is HARD to recall details :drink:

Both were epic shows!

I remember seeing that show (RHCP, Nirvana, Pearl Jam) in the early 90's here in AZ. I remember seeing some dumb ass climbing up the light pole and hanging off them... who would have thought Eddy Vetter would get so popular after that ?

Oingo Boing at the Universal Amphitheater Halloween 1995 was one of my favorites.

I have a Shoe box full of concert and sporting events from 80's, 90's and 2000's. Great times !!

Methinks the PJ, Nirvana and RHCP show was at the Sports Arena as I actually remember seeing that gig with my then new to me girlfriend.  It kinda got awkward when we ran into my ex girlfriend with her new boyfriend who also happened to be one of my best friends. Did meet Scott Ian from Anthrax that night, so that was cool.

Butthole Surfers at the Variety Arts Center downtown changed my life.  That was the tour where they would do acid every day for weeks and had a penile reconstruction movie playing in the backdrop just to give you an idea of what that was like .. .

PS:  Holy chit !  The Internet delivers:

Yore right, it was the LA Sports Arena (RIP).

You must love teh Interwebz...it always provides.

I watched my Castaic Lake BH / STP show....ABC Concerts covered it LOL.

Didn't keep any of my tickets, but saw your first pic...  "Hey, I was at that show!"  Great memories, thanks for sharing.

Which one? All those shows were great!
OzzFest '97   My older brother took me to my first concert (Pink Floyd) and several others. I got us VIP tix to this show and we made a day of it.  One of my fav memories.
