If your rv has a water leak and rain gets in. Will comp insurance cover damage done (not the leak repair, though)?

depends on the policy, some EXCLUDE seepage of water completely.  Call the agent and ask... worst case they deny it.

My weekend warrior had the sagging wall issue. My insurance (AAA) tried to deny the claim as it was a known issue with weekend warrior. They then said it was due to a water leak and the insurance didn’t cover water leaks of any kind. I had them for insurance since I was 16 with no claims for over 15 years at the time. Well I had backed into a tree limb camping at Campland one time and it put a ding in the back roof cap. No real damage. The repair shop said the ding caused a slight water leak over time. So my insurance covered the repairs due to the ding. Just saying FWIW.

This is my son's and is the very same trailer and issues. Haven't seen yet, will in a little while, but he thinks it's from water leak that has caused wall to sag. His call this am said "wall falling off" I will see. I know that like with home owners the insurance will cover the damage but not the cause, like water leaks.

I had a small tear from the neighbor's trees. Covered as a result of that.

Claim is more likely to get approved if there was an “event” that occurred. A slow leak over time is a maintenance issue and is likely to be denied.

Much different scenario but- I had a cracked windshield on my RV for a few years. Filed a claim with my old insurance company. I was in the process of changing companies. They sent out an adjuster. Told him a 'box' blew across then freeway during high winds in the 86 ans i couldn't avoid it. I just wanted the windshield replaced but he walked around the entire RV and wrote up every knick and scratch. A week later I had a check in my name for ~$7k.

Looked at this and it just needs to be used as a trade in on another unit. Its life is close to the end. Nice thing about trade ins is salespeople usually don't care about anything except selling a unit. Never take time to see what they are about to take in.

And then POW! your RV insurance goes up 25% on the next renewal for excessive claims.  Insurance companies suck big hairy balls.

Insurance is betting you know less than them. Considering some of the adjusters I’ve dealt with that is hard to imagine. Most policies take away everything in line 2. And yes, I’m aware of total Rv reconstruction that I’ve never imagined would be covered getting covered. Your question doesn’t have a hard answer, to many variables.  id suggest you read your policy with a high lite pen and review with your spouse, brother, friend, dad etc. then call your agent for assistance.

I triee to file a claim last year like this. As mentioned above. Unless there is an actual "event", your pretty much screwed. I have started farm.

Now my trailer tire blow out.. they covered that and the damage from that.
