We want to go from Buttercup to Glamis 1 day this week.

We can go up Ogilby...which is barely paved and rough as can be, and long or take Coachella Canal Road.

Is it paved? How rough is it?

You driving trucks? Thats a shit drive one way or another. Canal road often has significant erosion and washouts. It's just graded dirt. Be careful and I don't recommend it

IMO if 4wd i would take sand hwy from gordons to roadrunner then onto gecko rd.Heck i wouldnt hesitate to do it with a 2wd truck that tires are aired down.pretty much flat and be better than canal rd

Well, based on ur info, we are gonna chance Ogilby instead

I've driven my motorhome down Ogilby within the last few years, it's rough but it wasn't that big of a deal.

No thanks - drove up it for Vets trip this year and took the road through Holtville on the way back home just to avoid it.

Last March we took Ted Kipf Rd from the store to Buttercup in the rental truck. Took forever....But we were just killing time during a wind storm.
Came back through Holtville.
