Buggy insurance

I just bought a 1976 Homemade street-legal buggy.  I went to the DMV w/the tile trying to get it in my name....surprise, surprise, surprise (you gotta imagine Gomer saying that), I would walked outa there w/plates, if I only had insurance.  As it was, they put it in my name...I have a title.  It was Easy-Peazy, Lemon Squeezy, 20 minutes, tops.

Soooooo, I am on the phone now, 35 minutes with my company, USAA...no, we don't do dat.  They are trying to get me hooked up with Progressive (a left wing company).  I am still on hold.

It is a pan-frame, w/a rail top, 1976.

Who should I look to for insurance?

since its a vw pan the vin shows as vw beetle (or whatever the pan is from)

being in AZ and the weight of my desert dynamics i am required to register its as a street car, and carry insurance to keep it registered. i have a policy thru my agent went with foremost for the required insurance(liability, uninsured motorist etc) in AZ to keep registration current.
