I.ve got a 3 place ATV trailer and it is eating up tires.

I came down last year and when I got home (1,600m RT) one of the tires was worn on the inside.

I changed the trailer bearings....my hubs were getting hot, and when I opened it up, they were Chinese.....uggg.

I flipped that tire and made a note to watch it...and promptly forgot about the whole deal. The tire was pretty bald on the one side and 3/16" on the other.

On this trip, at St George I looked at the trailer.....hmm. At Las Vegas, balder. At Parker....OH shit.

I was outside the Quartsite tire at 8a. It seemed like I had a loose spindle nut, which they tightened.

So, after 650 miles, it ate up the tires on the inside. And, it seems like it is getting worse (from the last trip).

150 miles later in Yuma, it seems like they are still wearing "Wongo."

Bent Axle? Can it be straigtened?

Anything else to look at?

I think that it is a 2350# axle and it is wide....wider than my Suburban by about 6" per side.

Take a picture from the rear that will show tire angles. May have to get back a little. There are ways to straighten yourself if you want. Happy to guide you.

Shop bent the axels on my triple axle toy hauler to align it after hitting a safe on the highway.20210409_084531.jpg20190601_204239.jpg

Is this a single axle trailer? Have you taken any basic measurements to try to see what's going on? Measure across from tire to tire at fwd side of tire and aft side of tire and compare. You may have a bent axle or you may have axle mounts on the trailer that aren't square. Whet make of trailer is it?

I bought it used a year ago.

The girl that I got it from said that she just used it to move from Montana (where men are men and sheep are nervous).

I don't know how it could be overloaded. It doesn't have sides.

You might be able to get a 50" Sxs on the front and another in the back.

The most I.ve had on it is 3 ATVs (1,200#).

I.ll look at in the morning and see what I can see

You can measure the toe in, out. Tape between tires on inside front and back. You can put a level on tires vertically and see how the compare side to side and also how far off of plumb they are and which way.

put a juck under the axle in the center and load it up until chamber is close!!!

Lil bit of Lov'in is all it needs

Think it’s just best to get a new axle seems way to go price wise and know it’s good.

I looked at it today....it is toed.out about 1.5 CM (about .5").

There are no markings on the trailer.

The springs are 74" apart.

I would think a new axle is probably in order. I wonder if flipping the axle so it was towed IN would let it handle better.
