I don’t know if this has been a topic but does anyone have instructions converting a regular stacker lift into a belly?

We did it to weeks is stacker, slid the two centers togeather and shortened up the cables,

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? Given the increased popularity of belly lifts they may have a conversion available.

I believe It’s pretty straight forward. Disconnect the cables, move both ramps or the one ramp that has the pulleys and ram in it to the center. You will shorten two of the cables and have to get two that are longer.

if you use the single ramp you may need to reenforce it.

take measurements and pics of the cables and routing before you start. Easy peasy.

I’ve never done one myself tho but I did stay at a holiday inn last night

I had New Trend Custom Trailer in Fontana, CA do one for me in 2015. Was pretty straight forward for them. My client paid them directly so no idea what it cost.

we had to make mounds to hold the ramps in place then drilled the ramps on the inside to bolt them togeather, then it was just redoing all the cables

Another way if you have a full flat deck lift, is to cut holes out where the rear tires sit, or where ever the tires sit, I would only do this on a full deck lift,

Do you already have the lift, or is this a question, incase you find a trailer you like

I did it to mine. Wasn't hard at all but not sure what your lift looks like now. I made 4 new cables in case I ever wanted to switch it back.

This would be a great write up if anyone ever does it? I also have a platform lift, and might need to change it to a belly lift in the future.

on a flat platform lift, you could put cutouts for the wheels to hang down,

If I were to do, I would need all the extra space possible. It would have to be belly lift... and either the sandcar up top, with a 2 seat can am and quad below... or vice versa.

It is only a 20' box, so very tight on space.

I would like to convert too.  Howe are you guys tying down the car though, does it really scratch up the bottom of the car or just put some blankets down?

I use rubber horse mats. Can get them at any farm store. Just cut them to width. I leave mine a couple inches wider than the platform so the arm don’t rest on the metal edge of the platform.

Tie the car down as normal. Front to back and back to front. Has never moved.

I have 2 side by sides on my lift and put another side by side and my buggy below.

Stupid question - If you have a belly lift and a storage loft, how do you get a quad or something similar up/down from the loft?

By buddybhs fold out “wings” on his lift. They lay flat on the lift and the flip open to load his side by side on the loft.
