I haven't... the heights etc wouldn't bother me so much as it's freezing balls out here when they do it, and it's even colder up there.. LOL

I’ve been up in one of these over the Coachella valley. It was pretty cool, they take off early in the morning when the wind is calm. As to being cold up high in the ballon was a non issue because the flame thrower in top of the basket puts out tons of heat.
It’s a bucket list activity for sure

I did once. It was nice, but boring to me.

You should try it once to see if you like it!

hot air ballons......................DEATH TRAP!!!!!!

You dont land a hot air ballon, you hope you do not hit power lines with 80 gallons of propane on board and find smooth open ground if yore lucky.

I heard this one time and will never forget it....

Not ALL while people die in hot air balloon accidents, but only WHITE people die in hot air balloon accidents.

Made me laugh pretty hard! For the record, I would like to go up in one someday.

What is your opinion on a R44 Helo ? Flew in one once with a very experienced pilot, and never again.

Robinson's are entry level helos and NO I will not fly in one. Alot of people who are getting their hours in a piston or turbine helo rent/fly Robinson because of the cost per hour is reasonable compaired to EC & JR
If you ever have a chace to listen to air traffic radio at the Torrance airport, for the majority of the Robinson pilots, english is there 2nd, 3rd language.

Lmao! My photographers and video guys prefer them to the big turbines! Weird I know but rotor wash is a thing I guess.

I'm guessing they prefer them due to cost. This article does not surprise me, I could not believe how fragile the Helo felt.

The take off and ride is probably very nice, but the lands are always sketchy..........

My old house back east was on 13 acres, with most of it in tillage. It was a magnet for hot air balloons. There were high tension lines on a right of way on one edge of my property and they would be hanging on the burner to miss them. Usually they set down in the field, but a couple threaded the needle and set down in a narrow strip of the yard between the house and tree row separating the field. They would come knock on the door and ask permission to drive on the property with the recovery vans. Never had an issue, and the captain would always give us a bottle of champagne, which is apparently customary. We don't drink, so we accumulated quite a stack LOL.
