I have been with usaa for 23 years. No accidents no tickets. A few years ago they stopped insuring motorhomes, their roadside assistance sucks azz and so does their customer service/call center now. Im up to  280$/month to insure 5 cars (two get driven  regularly).

Im with progressive on my motorhome. When i signed up with progressive 4 years ago it was 67$ to insure my motorhome and my plated ktm525. Now 4 years later im up to 97$/month for just the motorhome.

I’ve called  both companies about rate and basically got a big eff you from both. Ready to give it back.

who are you using that you are happy with

We have State Farm for everything I might think  about a switch but they will insure the sandcar their prices are getting outrages and we have been there plus thirty years

We have USAA for the house & wife’s car. We have had very good luck with them.

Prior to marriage 16 years ago I was with Allstate for 15 years. A guy I went to high school with introduced me to his dad, who was an agent. He was into hotrods, and knew about my Baja bug Prerunner and took care of me. So when I got married I kept my truck & the Baja with Allstate as I did not want to have an issue getting the Prerunner bug insured or find out USAA drops if they find out what it really was.

Then when we got our RV 12 years ago we tried to insure with USAA only to find out they don’t insure RV’s and referred us to Progressive. I called Allstate and they insured the RV with no issues and I got 10% off because of my good driver, multi car policy. Right now I have a claim in on the RV as we had a front tire blowout at 65 mph. The last estimate I’ve seen was $17,000 in damage. So we will see if they jack up my rates on my next renewal.

Cincinnati on the home and vehicles, Grundy on the classics and the rail.

AAA, they have been good to deal with. Maybe take your declaration page minus the prices and ask for a quote from them. If you combine home and auto they give an additional discount. May be worth a shot.

Good luck Matt!!!!

Home is through state farm. Im in a state fire zone so its REALLY hard to get homeowners insurance. I’ll call around.

What are people paying for motorhomes/auto.

is 97$ a month outrageous for a 25k-30k$ motorhome? Weird it goes up yearly as the motorhome loses value yearly.

i basically insure an f350 4x4 excursion 4x4, jeep, tahoe, and a vw passat. @280$/month.

Mercury for everything. 3 cars and the motorhome. $420ish a month but my teenager is a brand new driver. Rates skyrocketed when we added him. Haven’t had a claim in years so not sure if rates would go up if we did.

AAA for everything but the SU sand rail and Honda Talon. Use Don Kent here on GD.com with Allstate for those, good guy.

Motorhome is foremost (through my Farmer's agent). $100 a year for just liability and rejecting the uninsured/underinsured coverage. Basically just enough to keep the registration from getting revoked. When I decide to take it out I call my agent to put on comprehensive and uninsured/underinsured coverage for the timeframe plan to use it for. They have no problem doing it that way and was suggested by my agent. Last year I only used it once for like 10 days and they waived the extra fee because it was a small amount and I didn't have any claims.

Ya the motorhome is the one that pisses me off, for the same reasons, dont use it enough im 1200$ a year to insure something 1k-2kmiles a year (my motorhome only has 11,500 miles on it)

I know a number of members are clients - I would be if I were in CA (I do have AAA here in Utah)

Will do. No facebook

Geico: $240/month for the motorhome (full), Jeep (liability), Excursion (liability), Mustang (full) and Edge (full). Went up like $50-60/month due to the V8 crowd pleaser.  Something like your VW would be a lot cheaper.  No accidents/tickets for either of us.

AAA for home and auto in California.  Progressive on the RZR in AZ.

This all really started for me last summer when the radiator let go on our excursion out between gordons and yuma. USAA effin automated system keeps telling me to hang up and go online where there is no internet service, 45 min wait to talk to someone @11pm, 3 hr wait for a tow truck that barely runs, the guy doesnt know how to work it, i have to winch it on and tie it down myself.

I’ve been told by chp and tow truck guys usaa is the worst at paying so only the bottom of the barrel tow companies run on their calls

I am AAA for House and Autos (including boat and Moho).  When you bundle you get 25% discount on both house and Vehicles, this is where you save your dollars.  If you don't bundle you will probably not save much. They also have discounts for a lot of reason, good driving, good grade, multi cars and so forth.   I have had 3 cars totaled during that in the last 8 years (freakin kids) and the rates have not been affected much.

Use him as well. Here is his contact info. I think AAA is a bit on the higher side but they have better service.
