Have a dent in my father in laws 71 C10 door we afe trying to fix. Have done about as much as we can from behind and still need more pulling. Eas looking at the harbot frieght stud welder dent puller to try and get the reat of the dent out. Anyone have any ezperienve with thia, or know anyone that has uses one? I know it isn't professional grade, but digure if I can get some use out of it once in a while and it works then it is worth buying.

Is there a crease? Can you get to it by taking interior panel off and dolly/hammer it? Everything electric from harbor freight is garbage. I bet one of my clients will shoot studs on it for you much cheaper than buying something from harbor freight

You can always tack weld a tab on to pull off of. You just have to be careful with heat in middle of panels.

And yes, even to stud welders will add heat.

It's a total piece of sheeyit.

But it works.  Should last long enough for a couple of jobs.

Door is already taken apart down to bare door, but still on the truck. Problem is where the dent/crease is it is difficult to get to back of it to do the heavy hammer and dollie work. Was hoping to get the major dent out and then only have finish dollie work to do

This is where I am at with HF tools. I know going in that they aren't great but if they can get the couple jobs I am going to use them on done, then they can be worth it. If this was something I was planning on using frequently I would buy a good quality one.

Never met the guy, but Dent Puller is a cool name...and if he's a Stud Welder, that's awesome!

:bag:

:lmao:

On a side note, what happened with your spell check bro?!!!

How hard is it to remove?  If i recall truck isnt mobile. If you can remove it i’ll shoot studs on it for you for free

Harbor Freight makes some decent stuff. I have a 3" cut off wheel that's their old Chicago brand. Probably 25 years old. Use it weekly. We used to joke that you can buy HF tools, just don't loan them out.

I now have a bunch of their Hercules cordless tools and have been really happy with them all. The 20v batteries are nice too. They're sending me the new line of LED lights to test soon.

Yeah, not ready to pull the door off yet. And you are correct not mobile. However father-in-law has got a burr in his bonnet to get that dent out now.... already put a porta power on it and now the inside door panel has a nice outward dent in it we will need to fix.

Thanks for the offer. If we decided to oull it off sooner I will give you a call.

Sorry for the potato pictures. Kind of hard to show the dent. Best I could get.

I would just grind paint off, tack a tab on and pull off it. Then cut tab off and finish panel.

No kidding, I thought he was trying to do a paint less dent repair at first.
You even have to grind off paint to use the welded pin puller. I would probably just use a knocker with 1/8 screw and drilled holes then weld the holes.
