The wife wants to put some turf in the yard. There is a pretty decent section in the yard where she would like it. Wondering if you guys know anyone in the San Diego area that does this. Looking to have someone install it also. Thanks

Give a call over to Glenn at G&G floor covering / JusTurf in Miramar. He’s an OG GD member (YAMAHASPORT)

Turfworx in El Cajon. Owner is Steve. They are wholesalers but you can walk in buy direct. They now have installers that can help you, or if you have an installer you want to use, then you can just buy your turf & materials and Turfworx can deliver to the job.

I’ve done several jobs with Turfworx. I buy direct and have other installers do the install. Most installers are independent, so the guys I use work for the majority of the big name Turf companies.  Originally Turfworx started out as only going to be wholesalers for installers, or walk ins. But demand requested he offer installs so now he also offers installs if you chose to use his crews, and allot do.

Great quality turf, at wholesale and not the cheap crap with inflated pricing. Lots of styles to chose and they will give you nice size samples to take home.

Let me know if you have any questions?

I also have great contacts with Pavers, contacts for full tilt bad ass patio covers like you see on a lodge,  (allot of people s#it when they see my patio cover.) and I also have contacts for the aluminum covers too. (All San Diego area)

Wish I knew some of the GDC peeps do the turf!
Just had a 45’x80’ sport field with a golf net/soccer goal. Also added a 15’x45’ putting green!

Thank you so much for your help. It is greatly appreciated. I will be giving them a call. I am new to this so I’m sure they can walk me through the ins and outs!

Thanks our son plays club soccer and is out there every day! Our daughter plays varsity high school golf and uses the net and putting green! The wife has noticed a huge reduction of dirt in out pool since covering all of the dirt!
Wasn’t cheap but in the big picture has made a big improvement to our property!
Happy Memorial weekend GDC!

I should be updating my house remodel thread. But check out athletic turf solutions. Been using them for 20+ years. Probably a total of 15 jobs.

They are almost done with my back and sideyard. Coming back to fine tune some of the stepper strips but is looking really good.

No problem. I learned allot over the years from them. I was one of Turfworx first customers. If you really want to get into it they can explain the different colors, blade shapes and what that does and how much fill you will need. Then you have your ounce, and hight.

Here is an example of my backyard turf area. I think this one’s called Romona? It’s got multiple greens, with one being olive, and then a brown thatch. This gives it a more true turf color. This would be a 2 inch high

Here is the front yard turf. This was something I found and Steve at Turfworx’s was able to bring it in for me. It’s not something he stocks. I wanted the most real looking turf in the front as everyone sees it. Most people question if it’s real or fake. Biggest down side is it’s a bit stiff due to blade shape so not as soft to walk on barefoot. Other down side was the price vs the others he stocks.

That is a beautiful home! Congrats on that. I really like the backyard grass you used. It looks more real to me with the browns in it.

Beautiful home @NIKAL you have excellent stone/pavers in your home..and that turf!

Well done.
