As you know i had an issue with Chase and they are not stepping up (it was a thread called digital theft)

so i did $11,000,000 of credit card transactions with them over the last 10 years, they received $285k in fees. they dont think my $1500 loss has any merit, so i am going to stop using them for my processing.

any input would be great on who you use

I have Square, which I've only used a couple of times and had no disputes, so that's not helpful. I know Costco offers a CC processing service, but I don't know how competitive their rates are or how they treat their vendors. Perhaps a Google search might turn up more useful info.

We use QuickBooks and their merchant services. I ask that my clients use ACH bank payments when ever possible. This keeps the cc changes to a minimum and more in our bank. Clients accept the invoice and input all their info. Once the item is paid we ship.

We don't own or rent a credit card machine. All gets inputted manually if it's a counter sale.

Need to hear more. We do lots of internet sales and pay a lot in fees. Last month was $7k ugh

What really sucks if you look at all the rates, the low rates are in store processing,  on line is 3 times as much,  ours is pretty hi we use PayPal for our CC transactions is is at %3.2-3.5 depending on how much we process,

Sadly, they all treat merchants equally badly, IMHO. We used banks, Paypal, and Quickbooks through the course of time. They all show teaser rates, but when you reconcile your merchant fees you see "mid qualified", and various ratings of cards that drive the rate up even on in-store transactions. How do you know what card is what? You don't. And, as pointed out, on line transactions or phone transactions are more yet. All those "cash back" offers that they use to lure consumers come out of the merchant's hide. We had few disputes, but, even when you are right you are wrong as a merchant.

We use Clover through our bank PNC. They also work with other banks.  Found it to be less expensive than square or others.

We use square but we charge 3% to the customer. We have used them for about 10 years and never had any issues. You just have to call the fee an bank interchange fee for it to be legal. My brother in law stated using Farmers & Merchants bank I can’t recall the rate but it was better than square.

As far as Chase that bank is a huge POS. They once froze my business account on a holiday weekend for “suspicious activity”. They wouldn’t tell me a thing until Tuesday. When I finally spoke to there back office I was told the suspicious activity was large deposits and large withdrawals. I though that’s what a bank was for. I’m a contractor so I would get large checks and then pay out 30-40% to material suppliers.

John,

I know you guys use QuickBooks- you can look into QuickBooks “online” version. They process credit cards (3%) and we use them. Not a big fan of the online version (different from the desktop)but might be good for what you’re looking for…

alot of businesses are doing it. I was at a place just last week and they asked cash or credit. cash was posted price plus tax, credit card was 3.5% plus tax also.
