i have a custom project i would like to do

2023 KTM 1290 super duke GT  it has large built in front amber blinkers.  LED.  the blinking duty cycle is about 50% so that works great for the new changes i want to do

i want to now run them as daytime running lights and then have them blink "off" (instead of on) via the original ecu blinker signal

so the transistor needed would allow current to flown (complete the daytime running mode) unless it sees a signal from the blinker to "blink off"

i will post the schematic of current set up and how i think it would be wired.  i just need to know what transistor to buy and how to wire the transistor in.

thanks for your help

Funny as I thought about doing this same thing to my bike - I came across the below item but never purchased it...seems odd that it would only work with incandescent bulbs though? - might be worth asking the site owner if that's accurate.

Turn Signal Running Light Module – Electrical Connection

Add running lights to any 12v motorcycle’s turn signals!
Allows your front turn signals to also act as running lights and then switches back to turn signal function when you activate the signals.
Nothing else needed!

Easy installation – connect left turn, right turn, running lights, and then ground the module.
Output to the left turn signal and the right turn signal and you are done.
Only works with standard incandescent bulbs.

and what do you think the ? symbol is?  its in both front light assemblies (cornering/flasher)

The picture is kind of fuzzy but it looks like a re-setable breaker.

If I inderstand what you are doing this could be done with a relay and the NC contact instead of the NO contact.

I would guess tthere're solid state ones out there now, in the generic "5 pin bosch form factor".

Look at first schematic in this thread. It goes into the cornering light ecu. Kind of weird snd there is one in each light assy too. A little strange

The dash on my vfr told me what the ambient temp was, but it seems silly to have 2 sensors.

Unless both lights are identical and it's one less part number to stock and sell.

Cool project.
