Their Bitter rivalry on the fairways............  Yea it was a REAL bloodbath out there.  the one guy shook his fist and said "Gosh Darn-it" on LIVE TV............ the audacity...

LOL

The PGA and Saudi-backed LIV Golf announced a merger on Tuesday in a stunning end to their bitter rivalry on the fairways, courts and geopolitical stage.

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, who once said playing in LIV events would warrant an apology, said the deal would benefit the sport.

“After two years of disruption and distraction, this is a historic day for the game we all know and love,” Monahan said in a statement. "Going forward, fans can be confident that we will, collectively, deliver on the promise we’ve always made — to promote competition of the best in professional golf and that we are committed to securing and driving the game’s future."

Great, it's basically the Saudi Investment Fund taking over the PGA tour.  In the past few months, several LIV influence peddlers had to start registering as foreign agents . . .

If the LIV guys who received those huge payouts to join their tour get to keep that money, which I assume they will, there will be a lot of PGA guys regretting not gettin in on that action.

Professional sports careers are generally short in terms of ability to compete. A professional athlete would be doing a disservice to him / herself by not trying to cash in when the opportunity arises.

Don't offer me $100 million. Peace

I will take a short career in sports for an $100 million...............instead I have a long career pushing paper for peanuts in comparison. :classic_blink:

The vast majority of professional athletes make more in the range of $2 - $4 million over a average 3 - 6 year career.

A person pushing paper that puts forth the same time, discipline & effort should be managing the paper pushers at at least double the peanuts.

I don't follow golf anymore (its a previous obsession), but I just hope Phil comes out well in this.
