I have a new to me 2017 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins. I'm wanting to upgrade some things on it in order to make it as reliable as I can. First thing I'm looking at is this:

BMP 6.7 Cummins Cat Fuel filter adapter 07-21 – Black Market Performance

From what I understand, they are better filters, less expensive filters, and make changing the filters much easier. Down side, I've read that more filtration leads to the pump having to work harder. I know there are a lot of 6.7 Cummins owners on this board...have any of you done this conversion and can give me your impressions on it?

Crickets! I can't believe that there isn't anyone on his board with some personal experience on this!

"Finally a solution that replaces the problematic factory fuel filter housing that has a plastic cap known to seize and break."

They also make billet filter housing caps to replace the factory plastic, if that's a concern.  Otherwise, do you really think the aftermarket guy with a chunk of billet looking to make $$ is building a better filtration system than Cummins?  Leave it alone and drive it.

I never had an issue with the so-called problematic lid on my '05 or my '19. The rear filter is a bit messy to change, no doubt. I see no need to improve the filtration on the newer CTDs. Use a socket that fits properly and apply steady force until it lets go. If you yank on it I guess it's possible to do damage. I lube the o-ring and torque to spec.

That will not put enough stress on the fuel pump to cause damage.
