Side porting is the old way of porting the reason you want top porting is to hold the barrel down enlign with target longer. Side porting helps with recoil but doesnt help with barrel rise so the second shot takes a mil a second longer.

what does it do?  if it prevents ejection failures & its not happening then no point.  if it keeps it on target.........  could be useful.

Doesn't it increase muzle flash as well in a low to no light situation, I realize there will always be some, but read it direct sit up more into your field of vision.
