2006 electric start trx 450. Bought for my son who is terrified of it for some reason. Will trade plus cash on your end for raptor 250. Quad has Dasa exhaust, elka shocks, steering stabilizer, rigid light bar, brand new skat trak edge paddles and  recent service. Has 1 20 minute ride since service.  Located in corona.

How about a Suzuki DRZ400? Bone stock, super clean.m. I'm the 2nd owner. Bought it for my daughter last year and she's riden it zero times. Having it is more important than using it, I guess. But my GF has 16 and 15 yr old sons that would love a badass TRX450.

I actually tried to put him on a Suzuki 400 this weekend and he cried. For him right now the smaller raptor is a security blanket. It was tough to watch him give up and shut down riding through the dunes when I’ve seen him go everywhere on his raptor. But if you want it I’ll make you a deal on it.

Is it sound by chance of the larger engine? If the larger displacement or sound is scaring him maybe a quiet stock pipe could be a solution.

It’s sound… it’s his brother being better at it than him… his mom telling him it’s too dangerous… his step mom saying I shouldn’t have bought it…the ruts were a lot of his 70lb body… the list goes on. Im just gonna let him take a step back and go from there. I’ll get another Yamaha 450 when he feels he’s ready.

That thing is a beast... and not for the faint hearted or those with common sense.  Be glad that he knows that he shouldn't be on that thing.

Have you thought about a thumb throttle with the screw you can turn down?  Do it with him and show him how it cant go wide open and hit the massive instant power.

Explain as he gets more comfortable / you will open it up based on his comfort.

He will be all over it in a few trips!

That is the quad hes gonna want!!!!

:poule:

Quad is sold. We will rebuild his confidence and try again next season. I honestly don’t mind having the extra space in the trailer.

There are 3 types of persons and they are all perfectly acceptable.

There is us, the readers of this forum....we love the dunes, and riding....it is fun

There are those that will ride, and they can be OK doing it (sorta fun).   They can be excellent duners.  BUT, if they didnt do it again, they wouldnt miss anything.

There are those that dont like riding...it is not fun.

Where does your significant other fit those?  Good possibility that is the type that he is...you can't change their type, no.way, no.how.

Buy a 125-250 w.an CVT that is simple and easy to ride.....Yamaha Breeze style
