1970 VW Type 3 Squareback

4spd manual transmission

Acquired this car from a buddy - he started picking up parts for the restoration and then realized he can’t really fit in it and drive it comfortably - he’s a big boy - so he moved on

he gave me the trim pieces for the doors and fender and window seals - dash many other new replacement parts - also has original roof rack

so it’s now on to me - I was thinking about a restoration but before I dove in, figured I’d list it in its current state

the car runs and drives great- stops great too- has a straight body and pan - with only surface “dust rust”

Car is all original - with original fuel injected motor - and trans is original - think they’ve never been out of the car interior is 5/6 out of 10 - interior needs redo but all parts there - found a couple suppliers with relatively inexpensive interior kits - crazy how much cheaper parts are on these cars versus sand cars!

Front apron hood and driver’s fender are quality replacements - need adjust

Has Fuchs Porsche chromed wheels and 5 lug hubs and brakes conversion and lowering all done by Dan at competition engineering here in PHX $2800 service - great shop for vw parts and service - he knows the car well

- not many original examples still left out there anymore- this is a straight, rust free, original car - great restoration candidate or leave as with patina paint

Located in PHX

$7500

Me likey!  If only I didn't have to put a new roof on the RV.  GLWTS or restoration

That would be a great first car for someone. with some extra cash and some elbow grease would be a great cruiser.

Rancho makes trannys that can handle 200hp. I think it’s a freeway flyer. Typical for Porsche replica cars.
