10 day waiting period for long gun...........

I bought an action from a place in Montana.  they are going to send it to my local dealer who will have to do the background check & DROS.  My question is, does the 10 days start from when the action gets to the dealer here in SD or can I go down there today & fill out the paperwork & get it going now so when it shows up I can just pick it up???

The 10 days starts after the action arrives and you go to the FFL and start the paperwork.

If you can get the info to your FFL (serial, receipt, etc) you can start paperwork and 10 day constitutional violation.

@L.R.S. I'm buying this from a dealer and bringing it into the state.  I didnt see that I had much choice.  Constitutional violation aside, I talked with the barrel mfg it will be 4 to 8 weeks anyway.......   :classic_sad:

It should get put on a truck tomorrow  morning.

I wouldn't want to be judged by any jury on gun charges anytime soon. The polls are not in our favor.
