I bought an ATV trailer and it has a 1 3/8" wheel bearing set in it. I am presently changing the wheel bearings. It had Chinese bearings in it. On my last trip, the hubs were getting warm. When I pulled them, they bearings were sort of frosty, versus shiny. It also had a Bearing Buddy type cap on the axle, and the whole thing was full of grease.
When looking for parts, I asked the local trailer place what the rating would be on 1 3/8" bearings, and they said 2,000#. My other trailer has a smaller diameter axle, and a 1" bearing set. It has a 2,000# rating. I bought it new. I replaced a bent torsion axle.
Does that sound correct....2,000# for a 1 3/8"axle stub.
