    Holley ECU

for the price tag of $400 it could be done out of Tefzel. WELL worth it.

    Holley ECU

pro wire sells 1 foot increments of 20ga TXLwire for 15 cents. 22ga striped wire for about 18 cents. so about $80 for 400ft of wire. you can use the holley color code and match it all up.

    Holley ECU

$400 for this harness? the cheap TXL wire Holley uses is about 5-7 CENTS a foot. i doubt there is $50 is wire to build this. then you have about $30 for the two ECU connectors. If you want a quality harness, just build it your self and do yourself a favor and use Tefzel wire.

Toyhaulers That Fit Long Travel Sandrails

i used to have an FS300 (beofre some asshole stole it) and i could fit a 4 seat buggy in. I would have to droop the front and tie with a strap and then out pizza cutters on to get it to go in-between the wheel wells. for those saying to back it in, those trailer had a ton of tongue weight, i...

Single Turbo V8 Sandrails - a rarity? a good idea? fast is fast right?

depends on the ECU. In the Motec world i work in, control of the WG is entirely done in a feed forward PID closed loop control strategy. what this means is you configure the system for what boost level you wish to run (which also factors in throttle position, gear, turbo shaft speed, vehicle...

Air to air Intercooler - fans or no fans?

totally agree with john......there is no such thing as too cold. there are limits though. you will never get an air to air intercooler to bring temps below ambient. so hitting it with a massive over sized intercooler and/or monster fans may only end up making installation challenging or waste $$...

Air to air Intercooler - fans or no fans?

get a guage so you can log temps. it might justr save you time, money and even performance. I would also make note of ambient temps when you run it as this will effect air to air performance.

Single Turbo V8 Sandrails - a rarity? a good idea? fast is fast right?

the main reason you see so many twins is because its packages better. that being said the vast majority of V8's use twins and there are plenty out there that are stupid fast. but that doesnt mean there is anything wrong with a single. If anything, it shows whoever setup this single system has...

Air to air Intercooler - fans or no fans?

yeah good point. what are current IAT's? also keep in mind, with the longer plumbing, quality of the intercooler you choose.....you could make situation WORSE. when it comes to intercoolers.......dont skimp........I have seen plenty of cheap IC's that were knocking lbs of boost out of the...

Air to air Intercooler - fans or no fans?

at 20lbs you will see outlet temps probably north of 225F. even with e85....I would want all the intercooling i could get.

Air to air Intercooler - fans or no fans?

its all a guess if you dont have any real world data. ideally you would install a temp sensor after the turbo, and measure the temp delta after the intercooler. what fuel are you running as this will have a big impact on what you can get away with. if you choose to run a fan, you can run it...

    Slop in Micro Stub? Torque?

time to rebuild both sides. the good news is this is very basic stuff and parts are low cost compared to big boy hubs.

    Fuel Pressure Subaru Turbo motor

there is no way your base fuel pressure (the pressure at idle with the Vacuum line open to atmosphere) should be that high. you will kill your fuel pump in short order or smoke the wiring. the vacuum line to the regulator also see's boost, and then raises pressure 1:1. so your 65psi base would...

    Turbo motors and spark plugs

quite often. seen many turbo cars show up to my dyno for poor performance. a new set of plugs cures many of them. plugs dont last on turbo motors, ESPECIALLY the iridium type. these plugs live in a much richer and higher temp environment, and the longevity suffers. i never run iridium on turbo...

    Mefi 4b help electrical issue

so assuming the ECU has power and ground, throw a timing light on any plug wire and see if it has spark at crank. if it doesnt, either the ecu isnt seeing RPM stemming from a bad crank or cam sensor or wiring to them. or the ECU is cooked. if it has spark, then its a fuel delivery issue...

    Can Grok tune an engine?

looks nice but i wouldnt run that much timing on your specs. even too much for an NA LS3.

    Mefi 4b help electrical issue

Another common problem on this old mefi systems. First…..your ignition key. Many used a toggle that was two position…..run and start. The switch will go bad and drop the voltage on the run leg during crank, starving the ecu for run power. Second, many had exposed GM blade fuse blocks. Sand...

    Mefi 4b help electrical issue

I dont know what color wiring your harness uses, but likely your green wire here is the trigger wire from the ECU, so grounding it would cause the pump to run. grounding the ECU to the case should never be an issue. a MEFI will do goofy things, if it doesnt have a constant and switched power...

    Mefi 4b help electrical issue

fuel pump control (ground) is J1 pin 6. the fuel pump should turn on briefly when the key is turned on. if that isnt happening, then either you have lost the switched power in, or the relay is bad, or there is a problem with the crank/cam sensors and the ecu is not seeing RPM.
