    First daddy-daughter trip success

2 dads and 2-two years old's. Wives stayed home this trip. It was such a blast and the kids had a good time. I know my daughter likes duning, as she's ridden before, but my friend's daughter hadn't been to the dunes. After hearing "WEEEEEE!" during the first bowl, I knew we were in for a good...

Good RV repair shop? we'll see

Didn't want to hijack Dbart's Camaro thread, but reading that reminds me of what I'm currently in the middle of: Dealing with a similar situation with my 2000 RV. Beginning of November, I took it to dealer for a bunch of maintenance and alignment. To save some money, I took it to a small...

    Sandrail at Sand Hollow?

Has anyone had experience with a sandcar out there? Everything I find online is related to sxs, bikes, quads. My wife and I are planning on going in a couple weeks with a group. Bringing both sets of tires for the rail. Beyond that, it'll be a "figure it out when we get there" kind of thing.

    Helmet speakers in toddler earmuffs?

Has anyone installed Rugged Radio's helmet speakers in child's earmuffs? We're a couple seasons out from doing it as she's only 22 months at this point and it would be a "listen only" setup. My thought against it is that cutting out some foam to make room for the speaker would lessen the sound...

Had some help with dune prep

I'll never complain that a 1-hour job takes 2 when she's trying to help.

    Oil Filter but longer?

My rail came with this filter on it. I'd like to replace it with one that's a bit longer. Any ideas on how to figure out what filter that would be? LS1 motor Current filter ACDelco PF46E Thanks in advance

    Control arm long, short? Curious

Pictures found on google as reference. Is there a reason for going one way or the other? The black car has one side of the control arms mounted back much further than the other car. Just something I've noticed and have been curious about.

    2D 2nd gear noise

New to me car, '03 Amplified Performance, LS1, 2D. First trip last weekend went well. Cruising in 2nd, I can hear a rotational noise. Doesn't sound bad by any means but curious if others with that trans hear it too? I'm paranoid after blowing 2nd gear in my last car up Olds. (ecotec/002)

    Winch in toyhauler

I have a 4 seater V8 and needing a winch to pull it backwards into the toyhauler.  Will a 2500 or 3500lb winch suffice? A 12,000lb definitely seems overkill. Picture of car for reference

    Loading rail backwards in toyhauler

I've heard of someone using a strap between the front-most DRings in the floor and hooking a winch to that to pull the rail backwards up the ramp. Does anyone have any experience in doing this? Just bought a new sandcar and will have to go into the toyhauler backwards. I don't think reverse...

Video from 2019. British friend visiting glamis for first time

Finally put together a video from footage out of my friend's GoPro. It was his last weekend in the states and had always wanted to see Glamis before going back to England. Safe to say, he had a good time. Video is longer than I'd like, but wanted to include as much as possible for him to show...

    Paddle tires backwards?

I have 1300 plus #2 cut with every-other paddle. Works great, but I've been curious if I'll get more spin/slide if I flip them. Has anyone tried this? Thoughts? The car behind mine has #1 cut with every-third paddle and he seems to have more spin/slide. Granted, I have a 4 seater and his is a 2...

Offroad Expo at PIR. How was it?

How as the expo this past weekend at Phoenix Raceway? Couldn't make it due to prior engagements, but was curious what people thought with it being at the new location.

    FRONT TIRE SIZE

I picked up an extra set of spindle mount front wheels. 15x4. Looking to put a set of "regular" tires on for the summer. Desert, hardpack, grocery store. Had my eye on a set of 235/75R15 Goodyear Wranglers. Will those be too big? My other front wheels have 8.50 Razorbacks and they work well in...

Epoxy for sticker-bombing a plastic table?

Finally decided to do something with my huge stash of stickers collected over the years. Sticker-bombing one of our plastic folding tables. I'd like to cover them with a clear epoxy or something similar to protect/prevent peeling. Any thoughts on the best route for applying a sealant? I'm...

    002 Fluid Level

When checking/filling oil level in my 002, should it be level with the bottom of the inspection hole? or a certain level below that? Recommended oil weight? I can't remember what Rich told me after rebuilding it a couple years ago

    Smoking in the dunes

Has anyone brought a smoker out? I've thought about bringing my electric pellet smoker, only to realize I'd need to have the generator on for hours or hope the inverter could handle it. Definitely not spending the day tending to an offset smoker. Happy Thanksgiving!
