    Strange Honda Cooling Issue

So finally got the motor all together along and it runs great or so I thought. Letting the car idle and bleeding the cooling system. Fans kicked on around 210 (normal) but the car would not cool down. Temp stayed at 210 and I noticed the coolant level in the bleeder container (plastic funnel...

Christmas to new years 2025, what have you destroyed?

Got the call from the dealership today. EGR cooler hose is leaking. They are going to replace the heater hoses while they are in there as well. Cost of the repair floored me. 3k parts and labor and that was them giving me a deal.

    LifePo4 batteries and size question

The house is about 25 years old and some of the wiring has been pretty suspect.

    LifePo4 batteries and size question

I run the Victron smart shunt and it works great. Connected to a power queen 300AH battery. I went with the Power Max 100amp charger but a few warnings. It will pull a ton of amps if the charge is low on the battery and can trip your home breaker where the trailer is plugged into. Secondly, it...

    LifePo4 batteries and size question

Go with the most AH you can fit in your battery compartment. Also make sure your charger is lithium compatible.

    The official Honda Thread

Glad you got it figured out. I trust OEM sensors from a junkyard over any aftermarket from an auto parts store. They due tend to gunk up sometimes and will need to be cleaned with parts cleaner and manually open and close the valve. Just dealt with this yesterday. Car would only idle a 2K...

    Stuck rail

Always try to dune with someone if possible. I many times have done a solo cruise to olds or comp. I always stick to sand highway or very well traveled roads so the potential to have help if needed is greater.

two 12v dying after heater use.

Another vote for a Lithium battery. I bought a 300AH version as I only had room for a single battery. I paired that with a large charger (100Amp) and they work great together. I used the below brands...

Christmas to new years 2025, what have you destroyed?

It’s a 2011. I can’t get to it as it seems to be behind the turbo. Not sure how to get to it.

How much boost are you running in your j series?

Talking with my buddy, I think I know what happened. I had a boost leak and it was causing a boost spike which would engage the over boost cutoff which was set to 17.6lbs which I think the motor did not like. Going to replace both gaskets and lower the boost to 12lbs. Stay tuned for pictures...
