Is the sport quad segment dead?

Ag quads are huge back east, and pretty big out here even. Back East doesn't have much if any public land so to ride one, you need to go to a private park, or ride on your land. The sport quads do OK out there but the utility quads seem to sell 10 times the amount of the sport quads. Rip a...

Is the sport quad segment dead?

The big motor quads never took off. It was a relatively short lifecycle for them. They were tuned more for torque than outright power and were heavy so they only sold well to a niche buyer. Usually older who still wanted to rip but have a couch to chill on after the body says 5 minutes of...

Is the sport quad segment dead?

I haven't been out in a few years. That's crazy to me.

Is the sport quad segment dead?

As mentioned, the manufacturers were stopped from building and selling 3 wheelers by the feds so they moved into quads. It looks like the same thing happened, but instead of a hard rule, the loss of a sticker program for public land means usage only on private land zoned for the purpose such as...

Is the sport quad segment dead?

Yamaha makes the 450r and raptor 700 sport quads. No other Japanese manufacturer makes a full size sport quad currently. Did this segment just up and die in the last 10 years? I suspect not being able to register a new machine in Ca. had an impact but what about the rest of the country?

Introducing the MidnightAce Sand/dual sport car!

A new manufacturer in the hobby is great! I think you're shooting for a higher end desert car customer and not a sand car. That thing is way to heavy for a pure sand car but you do call it a dual sport. Best of luck on the venture. The frame looks stout, welds look good, fitment awesome.

    Do you still use them?

For me, CD's are where it's at. I still order new albums, the last being Social Distortions new one. I've given away the jewel cases and liners and keep the media in a big ol heavy CD book. When covid first shut us down, I bought up a few DVD collections, ditched the cases, and house them in...

    Slate EV Trucks

No leasing at this time but maybe in the future. I don't think they were ever supposed to be $15K but originally, they were shooting for $20K and the covid inflation came. Rising only 25% to $25K tells me they will probably sell base models at a loss as the rest of the country went up 40%.

    Slate EV Trucks

I have my eye on a blank slate with power windows, center console, and bring your own speaker mount. I don't think any of them will be under $30K out the door which pushes me back to a known manufacturer but we will see.

Any Real World Experience With Doyle True RMS Multi-Meters From HF?

Do you just need a simple volt meter? Get the Doyle. I used an unbranded freebie harbor freight MM for years and it did what I needed it to. When I started electric power technology (Trade school), I told myself I wouldn't buy a fluke till I knew why they were so expensive. Once I found out, I...

New Shop Plans - Am I missing Anything?

Consider an exhaust fan/extraction fans for removing fumes and creating a breeze when its nice out. Also, great idea of the separate grinding/welding room. I'm having a lean-to roof built off the back of my metal building not only for covered storage but for the grinding machines to be outside...

Looking for a 22RE engine or Toyota guru to ask questions in AZ

22R/RE engines are simple and bulletproof. I didn't tear mine down all the way but i pulled it and broke it down to a long block after blowing a head gasket on the way to glamis in my teens. American pickups were called the hilux till '76 or there abouts, then they were just called a toyota...
