    IDing a Honda J35 A3 or A4

I have a J35A4 and it has the rectangle on the top of the intake like your first picture. It also has a J35A4 stamp on the front passenger side of the engine (as it sits in the buggy). I may be going to the junkyard today to pull a part I need off a Pilot or Odyssey. I'll see if I notice any...

    Safe Sled

So I've been tinkering with making my own sled as a diversion from my buggy frustrations. This is 1/4" aluminum. Multiple holes allow for positioning the tie down brackets as needed to fit the situation. It comes in at about 9 lbs. I sized it to fit in my buggy, but I'll likely just leave it...

    Driving gloves?

I have been using these gloves. Thin, grippy, cheap. I feel like they keep my hands from drying out as much and ward off the wind chapped. I originally got them for the extra grip on my steering wheel, but even after changing out to a better steering wheel, I'm still using them. Keeps the...

    Where’s everyone off-roading this weekend?

Ocotillo Wells. Shake down run for my buggy after swapping engines. Still having some idle issues, but just going to put some miles on it and try a couple more things in the field.

    Safe Sled

No, the way it works is you'll only need the part you are not carrying. I carry all possible spare parts, therefore I will not need any.

    Safe Sled

Yes, but I have a 2 seat buggy that used to be a 2+2, so I have a lot of room behind the seats. I carry a lot of tools and parts. I'm buying some aluminum this weekend. :sneaky:

    Safe Sled

I like this! I could make something similar at home that would probably get the job done. I have a rack behind my seats where I strap in my tool bags. This could go right onto my rack and the tool bags on top of this.

    Safe Sled

I have been considering getting one of these or making something similar. I'd expect these to wear out and only last for a few uses, which is fine, but 1 mile probably doesn't get me back to camp. I'm still on the fence about it. Maybe I'll buy it so my wife can to give it to me for Christmas.

Point noted regarding the fuel pressure being high and the gauge location. I have an aftermarket pressure regulator on order. While I'm waiting for that to arrive I'll work on doing a smoke test for a vacuum leak. I thought I had that ruled out because now I can cover the throttle with my...

    Glamis this weekend!

Same here. I wear a mx jersey for the lightweight full arm sun protection. I wear it in the buggy & mountain biking. Luckily I'm old enough now that I don't give 2 cents what other people think about me.

I have an inline gauge right after the fuel pump. That jives with the specs on the pump. Picture taken with pump switched on and engine running at idle (1500+/-).

Interesting. That one is rated at 87 psi, 255 LPH; pretty much what I have now. Mine is a Walbro GSL392, 255 LPH. I think my next task will be to leave the stock fuel pressure regulator (replace with junkyard oem) and add in line right after the fuel pump an adjustable regulator like this: Evil...

10-4. I think the fuel pressure regulators are about $20 at my local yard, so might as well do that and rule it out. If there are recommendations for an aftermarket FPR, I'm all ears. I got to thinking maybe that barb fitting is restricting the return flow. Notice the tiny orifice of the...
