    Trip Report - Veterans Weekend

From Gordon's Flats to Roadrunner is 18 miles. When we are on the skinny pedal it takes 12-15 minutes to get to Glamis. We usually dune most of the way there and back though and stay off of sand highway. Leave around 9-9:30am, dune the vast majority of Glamis, and can be back in time for a late...

LS3 Cutting out at Full Throttle

If it’s back firing it’s dumping too much fuel, so could just need to reset the TPS

    Weekend Warrior Fifth Wheel Remodel

Alright, got it wrapped up enough for a vets trip. Still need linens, captains chairs, and a few Knick knacks, but I’m very happy with the way it turned out. During: After buffing, polishing and waxing. The stickers outline is still visible, so I will eventually go back and wet sand the...

What do you Drive / Ride?

This car is one of the best off road cars ever made. No one can convince me otherwise

Time for a new truck (again...)

Thanks Jeff. The 7.3 motors were one of the best ever made. International did a great job. But there's a few "problems". #1: It's a dog. While it will tow whatever you put behind it, it won't do it quickly. Towing the weekend warrior home from Oregon, I was doing 40mph up the grades through the...

Time for a new truck (again...)

Thought I'd follow up on this one. Finally pulled the trigger on a new truck. 2020 Lariat Short Bed. Single owner truck, every maintenance receipt since the day it rolled off the lot, and a DCR fuel pump. Very happy with the truck so far. Hitch will go in it this weekend. I'll put a level on it...

    OC Shock Guy

Anyone got a good shock guy in Orange County that can turn 2 bypasses relatively quick? Found 2 bad seals I don’t have time to deal with by our first trip

How’s your summer prep coming along?

Got my new sparcos tacked in. Going to finish welding the new mounts tonight. New belts going in this week. Then it's just fluids and CVs and I'm ready. There's more cosmetic things i'd "like" to do, but unnecessary for the season.

    Tube bender

I use the eastwood one (1st one in that screen shot above). It works okay. It's limit is 1/8 wall 1 1/2" 6061. I blew up the hydraulic jack trying to bend a tube for my boat tower. Mild steel it'll bend no problem. I upgraded it with a 12 ton jack from harbor freight and now it works much...

    Which CV grease to use?

Fill the cup with belray, fill the CV with Swepco and call it a day. None in the boot

    Which CV grease to use?

This is why I stepped up from WD40 to wheel bearing grease for my CVs, and from vaseline to WD40 for my hubs.

    Which CV grease to use?

Just a good ole rehash of a 3 year old thread to argue about grease. LETS FIGHT. I say wheel bearing grease from autozone works just fine
