Sand Car Electrical Panels, Distribution and Harnesses

Also for labels I used to buy the heat shrink labels and put clear heat shrink over that but I switched to regular vinyl labels with clear heat shrink over as there is more color options and they are cheaper.

Sand Car Electrical Panels, Distribution and Harnesses

I like using the 12 button switch pros. They have 17 outputs, 3 triggers, 12 buttons, and is much more programmable than the 8. Ill utilize the 3 triggers for fans and fuel pump from the ecu. These dont even need to take up a button and can work in the background. Ill usually have the fuel pump...

    Holley HP won't spark

I thought that is what that parameter did too, but from the manual it looks like the crank to run only changes when the timing starts to follow the timing table. "CRANKING PARAMETERS Cranking Timing: This is the actual commanded timing when the engine is below the Crank to Run RPM. Base...

    Switch pros alternative?

Try turning the Bluetooth off. Hold the programming button (SwitchPro logo between switch 2, 3, 6, and 7) on the switch panel and press switch 1 (top left). It only draws 2mA after going to sleep though, shouldn't kill a battery after 2 weeks.

    Which CV grease to use?

I run swepco/belray same way LRS does since I put an LS in my car with 930's and no complaints. Before when I had a honda 3.5 and EMPI 930 I used to run the cheap red n tacky and pretty good luck but I did them 2x a year with 15-18 weekend trips, it would get a little runny but didn't wear much...

What to use to keep moisture out?

That unit isn’t really meant to get wet, there’s a few places water can get in to the brain besides the connectors. Maybe a splash shield would be better here. If you think it’s the connectors (which I believe are unsealed) you could solder the wires on and pot with epoxy.

    Automotive relays

Switch pros have trigger inputs that can be set up as high or low. The 9100 has 2 and the force-12 has 3. I usually set up fans and fuel pump on the triggers. As for relays I use the sealed relays from prowire. I saw some info somewhere that said the brushless fans are hard on relays. Generally...

    Electrical questions

Here’s a few photos of setups I’ve done… Why not go with a pdm like switch-pros if you are re-wiring the car? Could probably intercept everything under your back seat and wouldn’t require any serviceable fuses or relays. I prefer breakers over fuses. You can get auto reset or manual reset...

    Mid-Engine V8 Exhaust Pics?

This is the only one I could find of mine. I cut off a set of Gibson headers at the muffler and went 2-1 to the back.

    Wiring a sandcar

For best quality go with raychem dr-25 heat shrink as loom cover. The PET is cheap and looks good but doesn’t offer much for protection and will actually melt before the heat shrink if your not careful. I cover all branch joints, ends, and splices with raychem scl heat shrink, it comes in 4 foot...
