Yes, another Iranian war thread.

I'm kind of surprised this has gone on as long as it has. I was "hoping" that the Iranian people would rise up stronger and help topple the regime from the inside out with a more organic effort to prove the US's involvement to be the right move. This is why I'm not a huge fan of wars and regime change. If the people REALLY wanted it, they'd do it. This never seems to be the case. Same thing is true here in the US. With that said, I still fully support regime change in Iran. The World needs open and free passage of the Strait of Hormuz. It's long overdue, but any hope of the Iranian people taking charge and making Iran a great nation again is a pipe dream if they won't take charge and be part of the change. All I see is an easy target for another terrorist organization to come take over. It can always get worse.

Today's rhetoric coming from Trump is not good. Stating "A whole civilization will die tonight" is the setup for a Global catastrophe. Will Trump's frustration lead to a nuclear strike? I can tell you, the use of nukes by any country, against another country will create alliances to ensure THAT country never uses them again. Nukes are a deterrent, not a weapon to be used.

One thing for sure, Trump wants to end this, he only has a few more weeks and then Congress gets to vote yes or no on this. He does not want this to be a political fight at home, which exactly is what Iran wants.

My question, who is still in Iran running the show? We keep hearing of the current leaders being killed, at some point we have the Iran military going rogue.

As for one of your questions about a revolution, I think some of the fashions are waiting and see approach before they do a takeover. As for the regular people, they could be scared, I mean 35k of them have been murdered this year.

Once the nuke capabilities went offline and we killed most of their leadership, we should've ended it and did things to inspire the Iranians to take over. The more we bomb them, the more this turns into a quagmire.

I think the total is closer to 90k from what I've read..... they are basically death squads all over the country and they were basically unarmed...we tried to get guns in via the Kurds, but there was some kind of issue with that....

I don't think we were caught off guard by any of the stuff that is happening now....I think they are just drawing them out of hiding for targeting....there are not a lot of "leaders" left there and as soon as one is identified, they are usually dead a couple days later....Stuff is happening for sure....So far we have been all out on taking out their weapons...I don't think they'll stop until we force them all out....the "leaders" are a minority for sure right now.

^^^ I was just reading, that 90k is probably more accurate, as well the internet and cell phones are being controlled/cut off. With this and death squads it is hard to organize a revolt for sure.

I was reading that the Iranian people were initially excited, but are now getting tired of the bombing and are realizing, there won't be much left for them to survive on if this keeps up.

And yes, their regime has killed upwards of what has been reported, 100,000 plus people. I would suspect that number to be higher due to media suppression and state control of the narrative.

Trump needs to define a new objective, let the flyboys accomplish it, and GTFO of this. Negotiation? We stop bombing your leadership.

I've been told by savvy Iranians that the only way this will work is by arming the citizens to fight fairly against the regime, and starting at a city level then spread throughout. Unfortunately, the citizens don't have weapons to do that. Sad to see them uneasy now when just a week ago they were in joy about the attacks. Who really thought this would be an easy in and out?

Iranian citizens are "institutionalized" just like we are... Just not enough people to break out of that mindset

Every nut job who on the socials is screaming that Trump s committing "War Crimes" should have to copy the Geneva Convention 10X
Every nut job Senator or Congressman who does the same thing should have to stand in front of the senate/ congress and read aloud the Geneva Convention

If they (Government Officials) would just keep their dam mouths shut for a week and just let Trump do Trump the Mullah's would be toasted pretty quick but knowing that they are getting support keeps them more dug in than they have to. All they have to do is just keep giving the bird to the US and Isreal until the midterms and they know it will stop and they can claim victory. Even if their country looks like a moonscape.

Just reported that there might be a 14 day ceasefire with Hormuz being opened.

Once it is confirmed the Straight is open, oil prices will drop. Expect a good day for the Market tomorrow.

In WWII, the US dropped one million guns for the resistance.
Their guns were taken, so we supplied some spares.

I don't remember the time=line exactly, but, about a week ago my cousin posted something on FB about DT being in front of a psychiatrist....and the shrink says, so, these voices that you are talking to about ending the war in Iran, are they in the room now?

3-4 days ago, on the PBS news show, it was the Brit one....they said, there seems to be no evidence that the US is talking to Iran....or something like that.

Yesterday, I see that there is an offer out there for a ceasefire. Guess what....somebody had to have been talking to Iran for this to come about.

Previous Presidents have always used "diplomatic'" language, begging, bribes, written agreements with no weight behind them to deal with this rouge regime to no avail! All failed while the regime became more powerful.
Then Trump stepped in and spoke a language the regime understood,, "play ball or we will bomb you back to the stone age".
I hope this works out in the long run, and it will take a while to evaluate the overall success of this action. But maybe having a President with a set of balls was the answer all along. Time will tell.
