As "some" of you are aware from past posts, I am a HUGE fan of Dixxon flannels and have been for about 8 years now... far before they became as popular as they are. I got into them for two reasons;
- Themed flannels (Pantera, Metallica, Horror movie themes, etc), a unique product in 2018.
- Most of my career has been in a Quality Control lab so I needed something comfortable and durable to wear in a 68 degree environment.
Rewind about 20 years ago, on this site.
We had a member here named Danny G that was a Pro Skateboarder and a Pitbull rescue advocate. He set up a few events where he sold us his excess clothing from his MULTIPLE sponsorships and that is how I met him back around 2007. He lived about 10 minutes from me and I picked up a lot of stuff from him, some still used today (Hoodie, tshirts).
Now... present day... I found out that Danny G had a Dixxon Flannel made for him and his Pitbull efforts. I had reached out to him and unfortunately there were no more Large flannels available.
Back in February 2025, I was at a Leadership training event hosted by my company and ran into an I.T. coworker that was a Dixxon fan (we were both wearing Dixxons in the training). I took a shot and asked if he has seen the Danny G release and to my surprise, he said, "Yes... I have one! Do you want it?"
"Hell yes!"
Some time went by while trying to set up a meeting (we work in different cities) and in the meantime, I learned some very unfortunate news.
Danny has been diagnosed with Cancer and might not have much time left, here. I'm super bummed and it took away the stoke I had for getting my 87th Dixxon in my hands, only to have the guy it's honoring... going through some of the worst this world has to offer.
If you know Danny, reach out to him (just because) and I'll try to get him back on here as he has some nice toys and is still active in this sport.
