Time for a new vehicle.. Wife wants an enclosed cab with AC / Heat. Near as I can tell right now the top two ones out there for general desert off-roading and street use (98% havasu) would be the expedition or the ranger crew 1500.

Which one would ya buy and why?

Or other options?
Can am Defender
Kawasaki ridge.

No matter what it will get long travelled and the full treatment

Another vote for CF moto. Was talking to them at SSSS and I believe they have an enclosed unit coming out this year. Cars looked pretty legit.

I’m happy with the Expedition, it’s loud AF in the cab at speed though. They have $400 floor mats that are supposed to cut the noise down, I’m thinking about a full sound reduction treatment.

The closed cell foam didn’t help much on the noise.. my frinds have it still loud.

I remember a time when that would have RAIDERS NATION on it.

You got/went soft...LOL

The Ranger is infinitely more refined than the Xpedition. The suspension is smoother, the transmission and engine are smoother. But it’s heavy. Not sure how their suspension is in the actual dirt as I only went over some curbs in a 1500 Ranger crew. The xpeditions are loud, top heavy and underpowered in my opinion. There are three in my Glamis group and the all just use them as their auxiliary nighttime ride to sunset or the hill. With a fair amount of suspension work, a tune and paddles they can usually make it up most hills in Glamis. Although today a loaded down one had to make a second attempt at Comp.

Two of my friends have Defenders with HVAC and are very happy with them. Does the Ranger 1500 have low range?
