Dave Sparks is mad..

Glad he is standing up! Someone had too and he has the resources to do it

He's a Super Bitch. He deserves everything they throw at him.

He's the kind of guy that praises himself for the help he provides others but doesn't mention that he (or his friends) likely kept anyone else from contributing that could do similar, so he can make his videos.

He repeatedly violated Court orders and admitted to modifying vehicles, yet... he didn't do anything wrong? Ha...

He wants to be a martyr, it is good for his online personality, otherwise he is nothing

Did you guys watch the video....this is no different than the lawyers who sue businesses for no handicap access. IT'S A FUCKING SCAM. The judge threw out most of the allegations. The lawyers have bogus fees charged and were not able to produce anything to back up their charges. They have been doing this for years with the help of the EPA.... kind of like the insiders in the BLM helping the environazi's F us..... You know the enemy of my enemy is my friend....you shouldn't be throwing him away so quickly... he has the means to make change happen in the environmental laws....we should be backing him.

Not even Robby Gordon deserves to be prosecuted for vehicle emissions bullshit violations. Celebrating this guys prosecution seems counterproductive to taking away the power that the enviro nut jobs have. Be it the .gov enviro nuts or just private organizations. These are the people that want to shut down all of Glamis and all motorized recreation.

Pollution was a big deal in the '70s. Things have improved immensely. They have been moving the goal posts for decades and will never stop on their own accord. Fuck them!

As I watched the video yesterday I immediately thought of our own John@ Outfront and his legal battles over a handicap restroom at his shop.

The court orders were to pay attorney fees that were absolutely insane and are almost as much as the actual judgement. He’s paid most of the federal fines and is on schedule there.

His appeal isn’t the federal fines, it’s the ridiculous attorney fees of almost a million bucks because they moons-shotted a $114M suit for a handful of delete kits he sold for off road shit. Among the billed hours was paying the attorney to fly to Google HQ, break into the building by tailgating, then being escorted off the premises. It’s straight ambulance chasing shit. His fine was a little over $1M. The fees are $843k. The attorney should only be allowed to recoup fees on the suits he was successful in, not the whole shebang just because he sorta kinda won.

I don’t really like the dude’s videos or show, but I REALLY don’t like ambulance chasers. This attorney is exactly like the ADA guys who sued my wife’s grandparents out of business, or the environmental attorneys who sue the government to get desert land designated as nature preserve and paid big money for “winning” their suit. Any/all of these environmental attorneys need to be fought however/whenever they can as it’s an absolute cancer on our nation.

I volunteer hundreds of hours of my time every year fighting these fuckers, and wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire.

So yeah, I’m usually not with Heavy D, but I am on this one. Fuck that attorney with a rusty digging bar.

Fuck these type of attorneys.

Who is that guy Sparks - dunno. 🤷‍♂️

No shit. $5M per "deleted" truck is what the original lawsuit amounts to.

Even the reduced fine of ~$1M is $50k per. For ridiculous monster trucks built for a TV show that saw a couple thousand miles combined.

who was the big diesel tuner that got shut down and fined for deleting and tuning, and he personally did some government vehicles for the secret service and presidential vehicles? I remember reading his story thinking this is nuts lol. cory was his name i believe

While I do agree with you on the aspect of principle, I spent a few weeks in Utah last year and this exact subject came up around a few of the locals I hung out with.

The people I was around told pretty much the same kind of story about him;

-Before YouTube/Discovery: Amazing guy, helped anyone. Good resource for clapped out work trucks or hobby use.

-After YouTube/Discovery: Still a decent guy but the Ego grew exponentially and his ability to help the community out seemed to filter into things that only got him content. In addition to that, he was known to keep other guys like him (capable of helping with similar equipment - this is Utah... remember that, but no Go Pro running) from helping so he could make a video instead.

I'm not a fan of celebrities so my opinion is pretty clouded from the jump... on these things, anyway. He likes the spotlight and does what he has to in order to keep it lit and that's info coming from folks that live around him. All of this has been visible as his popularity grew. None of this is hidden.

In the end, it's just my opinion and he will continue to live his life how he wants.

Eff that guy! he was fined and failed to pay the fines and now crying about being put in jail. He flaunts all his possessions online and is super douchey in my opinion. There is always three sides to every story.
When I first saw diesel brothers I felt he was a clown show looking for his break.

1. I don't really like him or his content either. The rolling coal thing is absolutely stupid and is a pock on automotive enthusiasts everywhere.
2. He gets to decide who to help and when, and if he wants to leave his previous business model behind. If Discovery knocks on your door for stereo installs and fills your schedule with shoots and it nets millions in return, you're probably not taking time to throw a single DIN Alpine in @Crusty's Silverado either. :ROFLMAO:
3. None of the above excuses an attorney seeking $843k in legal fees on a $1M civil penalty. Suing on behalf of organizations for environmental reasons is already dumb. Getting to recoup any/all attorney fees associated regardless of effectiveness or applicability is an absolute bane on American society, and is the single reason why everyone with any money is supremely afraid of lawsuits. Lawfare needs to stop. Now.

CURE (California Unions for Reliable Energy) is one of the best in using environmental extortion to its advantage.
CURE sues projects over environmental concerns then eventually settles when an agreement is reached banning non-union workers from participating and multiple “donations” are made to their environmentalist partners.

Yep, and Californians simultaneously wonder why property is so expensive…
