Seen a post that they were blocking off access to gecko and wash road due to shutdown, any truth to this?

No Services Available. Blocking off Gecko and Wash road, would only limit certain types of rigs from entering those specific areas. I think folks are just talking shit to keep folks away....anybody post pics?

Great part is the Sand is still there, other areas to camp are still there. The area is not off limits to use....just saying.

Access to spots near the canal are RV accessible and a heaven to folks in Trucks.

Gecko is easy to close. Would be interesting to see them try it at Wash Road.

I was on Gecko during Covid and the rangers went around and gave us a 24 hour notice that they were shutting it down. It was no big deal since we were leaving anyway.

Gonna be out there Sunday for a shakedown. Anyone gonna test this gov shutdown and want to cruise around Sunday?

What is the point of shutting down gecko?? When the rest of the desert is open? Is it like a “we own this road” kind of thing?

If they close the access, it limits its liability to LEO/emergency assistance......"you should not have been out there"..IMO

we did it good during the covid shutdown only time we camped in the wash and had a good sized group.only time i ever seen gecko closed

Glamis is not shutdown, been here all weekend. Yesterday we saw a BLM rescue truck go by mid-day, one last night near pad 4 with red/blue on, not sure what happened there. This morning have seen rescue as well as LE trucks go by. Clearly not all BLM ECFO is furloughed right now.
