Hi everyone,

I am Bobby Payne, I introduced myself on here a few months back and asked for some old school dune pics for a project I had been working on. Well, the project is finally available for the public. I started Glamis Coffee. This business is my next venture for when I retire from the Navy next year.

A few of the guys on the site were nice enough to give me some pics to design our Dark Roast “Spirit of 1979”. My buddy Ken “the fog” and a few others sent me some that I was happy to use. Each bag has a theme that I think everyone can dig.
I am not just here to plug the brand but to inform the site that I am donating 1 dollar from every bag sold to go to programs that give back to Glamis in some form. This year I am pledging that money to Glamis Veterans. I first experienced the flag pole ceremony around ten years ago when I moved to San Diego. I know almost all of you here are fully aware of this event and probably know Brian and the crew that put it on. I was fortunate enough to meet him at the Sand Sports Super Show this past weekend and it was a great time.

My goal is simple: good coffee, built for riders, giving back where it matters.

I’m not some big company – just a guy who loves the dunes and wants to put something out there that represents who we are. Would love for you to check it out and let me know what you think. Truly honest feedback is welcome. Website’s here:glamiscoffee.com

Just ordered a couple bags, looking forward to trying it.
Q: why is the 3 pack sampler show as sold out when you can buy individual bags of all 3 separately?
 
lol....I got the beans for you @Grease Monkey. I will be out the for Veterans Day Weekend. I will be setting up a booth Friday to let everyone try it out the coffee while everyone is picking up their shirts for Saturday's ceremony. I will post an update as the details get worked out. It was great talking to you too @HozayKwarvo, I will send you a dm to see where I can send you a bag. I appreciate the support guys!

Hi @450Rudy, I appreciate the buy. The subscription 3 pack buy is still getting worked out because it is a separate function in the website that is a little more complicated. We should have it resolved in a few days. Looking forward to having it ready for you next time. Everyone can still buy any of the three bags though. Sorry for the inconvenience. Enjoy the fresh coffee and please let me know how you liked it.

I would like to know your background in coffee. Where did you start? Where do you source your coffee beans? Do you do your own roasting?

I'm sure others would like to know and it helps us all get to know you better.

Yes! I would also like to know.

I quit coffee (and all other forms of caffeine) a number of years ago, but my wife likes it. I try to get her a bag or two of her favorites every year for Christmas and other holidays, and then give her something new to try, too. She likes espresso and making lattes. What would be the bag for her?
 
@Grease Monkey that is a totally valid question. I would be asking the same thing. I know people are extremely loyal to the coffee they drink. As for my background in coffee, the past couple years I’ve learned a lot with my brother-in-law Joe who’s been deep into sourcing, roasting, and brewing for the last 10 years. I had been drinking his coffee for a while, so I knew he had an amazing product. I was asked by him earlier this year while I was on deployment about starting an adventure brand and since I am really into the off-roading community, I gave him some of my ideas. By the end of the conversation he said “why don’t you just start your own brand?” and he will take care of the production side of it. It felt exciting to do, so that is how this all started.

We knew we could give our coffee drinkers a superior cup each morning. While supporting the community we love it also supports the villages we source it from. Unlike our competitors, we work directly with farms in Colombia and Nicaragua to bring you the best quality for your dollar.
Your normal cup of coffee has a Q score of 78-80. We only source in 84+ making this the top 1% of coffee in the world. You would have to try the coffee to fully understand the difference.

@RideSand thank you for your question. My wife was just telling me that coffee is a good Christmas present. I hope the rest of the married folks on here take notice…lol. For espresso and lattes, we recommend the Spirit of 1979 (dark Colombian) one for a perfect shot of espresso, if you’re aiming at a more modern acidic shot, go with the hangover one (medium Colombian).

Left Plymouth MA to get some Hershey chocolate in PA today and then off to DC.
