Well now...

For guys like me, this is a great idea.

I travel the western US far more than I go to Glamis these days and single use vehicle ownership outside of my Quad fleet is a waste of money, says my Excel spreadsheet.

I would LOVE to own a Sand Car but my Glamis Tunnel Vision has expired for good and we will need toys for Sand, Hardpack and Water as time goes on, the kid grows and we discover more and more places to vacation to.

Thank for the info, Joe!

To get the Mav R is $2900 membership and $1000 a month. It might be worth it if you were going to come in and spend 2 weeks at the dunes and then never go again. I wonder if the cars delivered to Glamis have paddles and enough lights for a night ride.

I read in the FAQ, that would be a yes. They have added whips, and other equipment as well.

I like to go to Mammoth for a month every year. Even though the buy in is steep, it seems like a good plan to me.

Might be cool for some but honestly half the fun is building out your car and making it your own. Tinkering, upgrades over time, etc

If I just wanted to show up I'd be doing an all inclusive resort somewhere lol. I drove rzr's in the Bahamas once and it was pretty cool. Waiting at the pool bar at Margaritaville was probably an iffy choice but I kept it on 4 wheels most of the time

I leased a car once, never again.

I don't think this is bad program for some, But I like owning and having something to sell, just giving away $7k for a rental for the season is not in my financial plan...............

But you are still spending the $1000/month! To me that is not work it for only 2 weeks a year.
Now if you plan to go once a month, year round, boating stuff too...the dirt and water sport package might be the way to go!

I actually suggested a model like this for performance boats a couple of times just do to the cost of ownership.. nobody really bit on it though

As far as I can tell...

It's a month to month lease.

So once you buy in (ouch) you pay the fee only for the month you'll use it in.

Seems like a deal to me, as long as they don't fold up, after the first year! 😱

I see ads for these from time to time so apparently there is a market for it.

Its popular in the OC area. Seemed to work as its been around for 5+ years. The boats are pretty basic but check all the boxes.
Another popular option is fractional ownership with a management team.
