What do you remember and when was it?

My first time to Boardmanville was with my friend Brian. Jeannie called him 2 Beer Brian.
For obvious reasons, Brian only has two beers when he would visit.
Anyhow, Chuck had passed and Jeannie needed help getting a diesel powered generator running. This was a big unit. 200+ Kw Detroit Diesel 12V71. I happened to be a Detroit mechanic and when Brian asked I said sure.
We traveled out and got onsite. Met Jeannie for the first time. She showed me the unit on a trailer out back of the bar.
I went to work. About an hour in I could tell it was going to need a major rebuild. The engine was locked up. Probably from rain getting into the exhaust.
Sat with Brian and Jeannie, got my free beer and gave her the news.
It hasn't run in years she says and Chuck was the only one who knew how to run it.
So there it sat and unfortunately got ruined.
She passed on any repairs and we called it day.

This was 2002-3 ish.

1st time to boardmanville was back when I was in early teens so late 80s. We crossed under the tracks and away we went. I was on my xr350 dad was on a Yamaha 225 ATC and brother was on his Honda fourtrax. I hated it was a boring ride and seemed to take forever! I’ll have to look but my freshman highchool photo is with me wearing a boardmanville shirt.

1st Visit was about '02/'03. Wash 10 access was the best and remember the days when 13.5 was a bit to quiet, we would take a peek and check to see if the red stobe light was on or not. When on, we'd head out there on the quads for Beer and Pizza at about midnight and hang with Jeannie. Her being Bears fan was great! Thank God that place didn't serve liquor.

It had to be early 90's with my old group. Our normal camp was by the old tower at Olgilby and I had never been to Glamis up to that point only the south dunes. Well that particular Halloween weekend the powers that be decided we would ride from the tower to Glamis. We loaded up our coolers and fueled up the three wheelers and headed up Wash road. We made it all the way to the Beach Store where we filled the bikes back up with fuel and headed over to Olds for a few hours. On the way back the group got split up a little bit and as myself and a few of the other rolled up to Wash 10 one of the old timers was waiting for us stragglers. He asked if we wanted to go grab an ice cream and drink, So we headed off under the tracks to get some refreshments and find some shade.
That would be the first, the next time was with the GD.com group we went for a pitcher of beer and chili cheese fries

First time was 1988, I was 16. We camped there with my friends parents buggy club. I remember being shit scared to make any dust after a not so nice intro to Chuck. It turned out to be a great trip and we camped there a few more times that season. Didn't go back again until early 1990's, after that is was destination every time we were in G. All my kids first rides were from the washes to Bordmanville. The good old days when you grabbed your whip and drove through the tunnel.

In the 80's we always camped on Gecko at the Key Hole, it was rare to camp by the GBS Store in Vendor Flats, but on a rare occasion we did. One trip, must have been Easter because it was getting hot, I got to go on a ride with the "Guys". We crossed the tracks and headed down a few trails to that log cabin bar with dollars all over the walls. The guys drank a few beers and i got an ice cream. I remember only going there once as a kid, then in 2006 went back with friends from here (GD). BMV was always a treat, but not the norm for us.

We did GBS and Sweet Marie's much more often.

I think around 1990 was there with friends to get some chili cheese fries I think. Buddy was pretty wasted and it was dark. A big moth flew by and a friend caught it, we dared my wasted friend to eat it, and he did! There was a dollar on the wall commemorating the moment.

Early 2000s. Wife tells me stories of outlaws, racy posters and parties all day/night there in the 80s. I feel cheated. :ROFLMAO:

My first visit to BMV was mid-2000's via Wash 10 access. Before the train wreck and relocation of Wash Rd.

My first trip to Boardmanville was in the early 90's, with my buddy Benjammin' and his Dad, Rich. We used to camp across the street from the GBS and run the 200X's through the Baby Dunes to Comp (Yes, we crossed the 78). One trip, Rich took us to Boardmanville to see what it was all about. Next was a run by Clean Gene's. Back then, you had MAYBE a few camps around the Dunes on a busy weekend. Ben and I then moved onto Wash 10... which was really Wash 11 once we got camp set up.
