Another trip in the books.
Great time...a little warm Friday, but Saturday and Sunday were awesome.
Saturday, we explored more east and north, ended up doing about a 60-mile loop.
Sunday, we headed south to an old mining town that has all but disappeared except for the cemetery of the last 2 settlers there.
From there we made our way to Lake Mead, and it was perfect, got out our collapsible chairs, ice cold beverage and hung out in the water, swam a bit, just hung out.

Can't for the next trip back there where we will adventure more southeast into Arizona.
Part 1 pics..

Part 2 pics...
My buddy Tim got the flat...tire was ok, brand new tires and rims...the rim blew apart.
Haven't seen this happen to a rim, missing about 2-3" of the lip. He doesn't even know what he hit and I was following him when it happened. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
Told him to just run OEM Can Am rims/Beadlocks.

Looks like an awesome trip. Nevada has some great trails.

Your friend running a 15" or 14" wheel? You have to remove the rock scrapers off the X3 to avoid rocks getting jammed between the scraper and wheel.

15" wheels are the way to go on the X3.

Guy at work did the same thing. Front tire kicked a rock between the rear arm and wheel.

Runs the "mud flaps" in front of the rears now.

Yeah, you can see the line where the rock was doing some machining until it eventually got an edge…

Yeah, @Sand Shark he's running 14" and mud flaps.
Thing is the trail we were on, was called Little Finland..we had just took a break there, headed back out and that trail is so smooth, not rocky at all.
Was not even 2 minutes after we started it happened. I was right behind him and didn't see him hit anything or kick up anything.
Really wierd.
We are all running mud/rock flaps

It probably happened earlier and that section of the ride is when it finally let go. I small rock can get jammed in there and do damage. There is a hard plastic scrapper that bolts onto the bottom of the trailing arm. If you still have those on they catch rocks and scrape up the wheel.

Did he remove the factory rock guards ? I'm guessing this was the cause. Also his mud guards look too far forward in comparison to most other set ups.
