This was pretty cool. Got the alert on the phone. 10 seconds later felt the quake.
Preliminary 6.0 measurement in San Diego.
I am in Costa Mesa. OC.

Looks like its been downgraded to 5.2. Lots of followup shaking going on in the same area.

I got the alert about 1 second before it hit. That's the first time in a very very long time that I actually felt one. It just kept going. When stuff started falling off my wall shelf, I went to the front door..

I got to say that app made me panic more than anything. It started blaring and then the earthquake hit. Had a little fight or flight kick in

We got the alert after the quake here in Vista.

Longest one I've ever felt. Takes the spot of the one we saw in the Compound in the 2000's where the ground was looking like a liquid while we sat in our chairs.

Alerted 7 seconds before it was felt in Tustin.

Alert sounded and about 5 seconds later we started swaying for a bit up here on the 5th floor of wonderful downtown Hawthorne . . .

Alerted about 10 seconds after the fact here in Miramar. That was a solid one for sure. At my house in the SD Country Estates wife said some antiques got knocked from the shelves and broke. Bummer.

Any cameras at the house to collaborate this occurrence. 🤣

Heard the rumbling, felt the shaking, then my phones go nuts…

Yeah. Didn’t help enhance my calm. Was in my motorhome without jacks down for a conference call (kids and cousins are out of school). Shook like a motherfucker.

Was a good one.

Here at the shop in el cajon you could hear it for about 5 seconds before it really hit. It sounded like an explosion getting closer. I was headed for the front roll up door to see the mushroom cloud. Was a little relieved to realize it was only an earthquake. No damage at shop or at my house which is about 10 miles from center of earthquake. Was decent but not spectacular. Been a good while since we had a decent earthquake

I wonder how that system works. Does the system se all the phones that are bouncing off the towers? Would my phone with an Az area code go off if I was in the alert zone? Or does it just call all of the numbers in the area code? That would be strange if you live in mow say Tennessee or were visiting say Nashville?
