How was your 2024/2025 Dune season?

Seasons was a good one. Did a few less trips than normal, but the trips we did make were longer (5-7 days trips). Still got in 20+ days of dune fun. Covered a lot of dune miles and lots of smiles.

  1. Spending that many nights in the dunes you get tired of everything smelling like smoke and it is cheaper to burn straight 91 in smudgies (and not smell like wood smoke every day) than have firewood delivered.
Wait... what? You're complaining about the "campfire" smell in the Dunes?

I heard a story about this... can't believe you actually wrote this one down... 🤣.

Oh man...

I got in 21 days, feels less though. Did a lot of other things as well, San Felipe, Belize, Mammoth and Big bear to name a few hurt some duning time. I am certainly getting tired of fighting for camping spots, even off weekends are getting harder. The dunes still aren't crowded, just all the camping. It also can be me getting older....haha

Nah, not complaining about the campfire smell in the dunes and that part doesn't bother me at all... everyone can do whatever the f they want and by no means meant to imply that other camps smoke bothered me... for me though, instead of a wood fire every night for weeks out there the smudgy is cheaper than buying wood and my clothes are not smoked out. I still enjoy the campfires, just rather not wake up for weeks straight with everything I own smelling like wood smoke. Shit changes when you get into the triple digits for nights spent out there.

Brought in all of my jackets from the trailer to wash this weekend. Placed them in a laundry basket and set it down inside the house, about that time girlfriend wants to go to the store and all that. Came home after a couple hours and I was scared something had caught on fire entire house smelled like smoke.

That's how you know yore doing it right !

Mine was great I don’t think it’s over yet. A few trips were cut short because we had Silvia’s mom move in. She’s 96 so it’s been a serious adjustment for everyone.

You should have kept to clothes line between the two cacti to air shiz out.

Season isn't over yet. Headed out next week. 27 days so far, this trip will make it 32. Had it's ups and downs, but still fun.

Smells like used sheep thanks to @BaBaBouy
It smelled like sheep up here way before I domiciled, it’s just a tad worse now.

I have.

You're not the only one that does this.

4 days in Dumont and 5 days in Glamis!
Headed to Valley of Fire this Friday for 4 days. Not dunes, but still cool.

Not a single minute in the dunes this year. Killed me to miss this season. Hoping to be retired by September and then I can go when I want next year. We shall see how it plays out.
