Who did the lowered mini truck deal in the 1980’s?

Great, now I’m gonna spend the next few hours searching for trucks for sale! Thanks
lol that’s what happens to me until I see the prices of what I want and have no space to park another vehicle.

80's?

I graduated HS in 75, and there were a bunch of mini trucks in the HS parking lot!

Most were beaters, so they had to have been late 60's or earlier 70's trucks?

Pretty sure some of em were Datsun's! There were at least two Chevy Luv trucks that I can remember, and one has a SBC in it.

High School was a Lot more fun in the 70's. 👍🏼
Your 10 years older than me, less v8’s in my era. I had 4 cars through high school. I’m a car ho

I still have not grown up and still in. Car club / minitruck club " NuTrend" I own a couple minis. Will dig deeper in this
I was in Banzai Minis for sometime then when Pete" Hot Dog Designs " started Trash Can Minis I scraped my window and had that thrown on there. No rules or dues.. Just dudes having fun. I still have some stuff painted with the logo on it..This thread brings back a lot of good memories!

I was in it from 83 to 87ish. I had a Nissan/Datsun 720. Lowered it the cheap way. Took all the rear springs out except 1. Then put in air shocks.
Found out the hard way that if your scrap the exhaust to hard on a speed bump it shut the engine off and could not restart. Found out it would blow a fuse for some odd reason.😜

Just bought my fourth Rabbit truck. Not lowered or anything, just small. I probably shouldn't have, but I like it and it makes me happy. This one has AC! First one was my favorite but I was rear ended in the thing and it was totaled, second one didn't have a motor and was sold with the first one, third one was turbo swapped but I never got it figured out, and this one is pretty much stock. Could use a new interior and a nice cleaning, but its pretty good. Here it is with my bike rack on it. I built a custom receiver for it out of a hitch from my Super Duty, that was also totaled last year.

Note: neither totaled trucks were my fault and neither dude was insured. F some people man.

Lessons learned last week.
Bottle jack won't lift the truck high enough to drop the spare. Good thing Freeway service stopped by shortly and saved the day with his floor jack.
Should have checked that, also the spare was horrible but enough to limp to Llantas Usadas and get a good used spare.
No clue how the BFG came apart how it did, 4 year old tires, thought is the tire was very low air and didn't catch it until it let go at 80mph on the Freeway at 5am LOL

By 9am was back in business 😎
