Generators what do you like

Keep in mind all of these gens need valve adjust. Normal is 300 hours. I had 2 Honda 3000 hit valves for lack of doing it. My bad. It is a pain to do on Hondas.
Dam Hondas do not have a hour meter. Easy to loose track of how much time on them.
The new Hondas have an app that can give you all kinds of info 👍

I was told Yamaha is exiting the pump and generator business.
I purchased the Yamaha EF2200IS a couple years back, loaded with great features and built really well...best design for a suitcase style portable Gen......the problem...that little 79cc engine they use on these....had no balls...They claim it's 2200 watts just like the Honda's....but the Honda uses a 121cc engine....there's no replacement for displacement!
Now stick the Honda 2200 engine in the Yamaha 2200 design....Rockstar!!

A longer stroke engine generator seems to work best especially with RV AC. It handles the AC compressor re-starting torque better from my experiences.

Wonder if a couple 2200’s would work or should I start looking for 5k
I have a pair of Yamaha 2200s and they run 2 15k a/cs in parallel. I can run 1 a/c and charge my batteries (I charge at 85amps). I can run other stuff at the same time as they will "boost" for a few minutes for things like the microwave. The Yamahas get noisy at full tilt and the CO sensor is quite sensitive but if you point the exhaust 180 from one another they will stay running.

I have a 4500w dual fuel Champion that would run 2 a/cs sometimes (unless it was really hot outside which is when you need them). Solid generator for the most part but sand gunked up the knob to turn it on along with the choke. I actually preferred it over the Yamahas but durability is questionable in the sand (was awesome until I started going back to Glamis but admittedly didn't get much use before that). I broke my back last year and just can't lift the Champion any longer so I went with the dual 2200 option. Yamaha had them on sale last month for $1200 for the pair along with the parallel kit.

Edit: the Yamahas are still on sale here.

I bought the Honda EU2000 and the Harbor Freight equivalent at the same time. I did the same break-in and service for both.
We kept experiencing long power outages in my neighborhood and I need to make sure my multiple freezers/fridges and kids entertainment centers wouldn’t be offline for those extended outages.
We always ran both generators with same fuel simultaneously with similar loads and run times.
I think it has been between 6 & 8 years.
The Honda is still great.
The Predator surges unless it is under load at a higher rpm.
Harbor freight made some slight improvements to the Honda machine when they “borrowed” their design, just not in the running department.
The Honda was almost double the price, but I kind of wished I had just bought 2 Hondas Or one larger Honda unit.

I like the one @Spize909 had, cause when I needed to borrow one, he loaned it to me and it ran perfectly.....a honda i'm thinking.

Carry on LOL
Yes, Honda 2000. Still have it but it takes about 15 pulls to get it started the first time.......thanks for reminding me, this weekend would be a good time to pull out the generators and run them. I guess I could clean the carb in the Honda.

You just need to clean the jets and it'll run perfect again.

I have the Predator 3500 for 4 seasons now - Change oil and removed the spark arestor and CARB crap - Runs Fantastic every trip. I installed a wheel kit from Ebay

It runs the Microwave / AC and is quiet - Paid $600 bucks and I love it!
