Looking for a Yamaha raptor, 660 or 700.

Try to find a 700 over the 660. There are some 660 parts that are getting hard to find.

Agreed.  Gearing is another reason for the 700 over 660, especially if you're following kids around.

There's a big difference between 1st & 2nd gear on the 660.  I traded a guy his Raptor 660 for my Warrior 350 specifically for this reason.  He got the 660 to follow his kids around and said 2nd was too tall of a gear.

Im leaning towards a 700, just need to find something that is not over priced and thrashed, this is a funny market.

Must go with EFI. I had both... you want the 700 trust me.. fires up and runs great everytime.

My 660 (2003?) unfortunately has had storage times , multiple times and I’ve pulled the carbs to clean them out those times it has sat for over a year. It has not been started post-covid. It probably has 10ish long Glamis weekends on it for night rides. Two St.Anthony trips and two handfuls of Mojave day trips. I’m pretty sure I have paddles and maybe front smoothies for it.
As someone mentioned, 1st is steep and 2nd gear is long.
If you’re still entertaining the thought…..
