Im trying to find a part number for a paper thermostat housing gasket on LS water pump. I didnt know it was even a thing until last year, as on the buggy ive never needed one the rubber around the thermostat has always worked. But i did a LS in my boat and the water pump that came in the accessory drive kit came with one. I installed it without it at first and it had a slow drip so i put the paper gasket on and it stopped the drip. I recently had to pull it apart and it tore the paper gasket. I have searched best i can and cant find a part number or the correct one. I see it comes with certain water pumps but cannot find the gasket by itself. I even went down to napa and they let me go in the back and look thru all the boxes of thermostat housing gaskets but no luck. Im hoping someone might have a part number so i can find one. 6441A534-17F9-4A94-9337-0F280E355E85.png

There is not a gasket IIRC. Its a seal on the thermostat itself. I think you have to buy a thermostat to get it

Like i said in the original post that is what i always thought but it came with a paper gasket and leaked when i tried it with just the rubber seal. And as you can see in the pic some waterpumps come with the paper gasket i am just trying to find a part number to but the gasket by itself.

Get some gasket material and make one or use silicone sealant. The rubber gasket on a t/stat is usually all that's needed but it really needs to be on a t/stat to have enough crush to seal, if you take the guts out of a t/stat and use the rubber seal it'll work good.

Before I stuck AN press in's on my pump I traced mine out of cork gasket. Worked perfect and ended my leaking issue that your having.

Should be on the thermostat itself.

There are 2 different size thermostats. Newer is larger.

Listed above the T stat has the Rubber Seal built in, I also use a little silicone on the housing

Is your thermostat separate from the housing or one piece (t stat and housing replaced as a unit)?

I am running the billet water flow restrictor from Redline with the rubber seal off the thermostat. It has a slow drip with just the rubber seal but doesnt leak with both rubber seal and paper gasket. I was hoping someone might know a part # for it as they obviously make it because it came with the water pump and some other water pumps (like pic from summit) come with it. If i cant find a part# i can always make one or add some silicone.
