The .040 gaskets are in stock, but I felt I should do some checking before ordering. Pistons are about .010 out of the hole at TDC, and .026 out of the hole when the piston is rocked, leaving only .014 clearance to the head, cold. That is definitely not enough clearance in my book. So it looks...

Building an engine, and all the necessary changes for the blower, new radiator, heat exchanger, coolant lines, intake, fans, water pump, complete new fuel system, etc etc.......

I set the comp low cause it's a pump gas motor, the pulley on the blower should be around 10 psi. We will see how it goes. May have to go lower, or switch to race gas or possibly meth injection. Built a vw back in the day, with 14 psi, on pump gas, with a heavy dose of meth injection, but it...

Ok, sounds like I will be leaving it at 9.3:1. The bottom end is already assembled, so no going back now. I'll go with the MLX gasket in a normal thickness.

Putting the feelers out for a buddy that built a LS swapped jeep Cherokee, its linked and has coil overs, so no off the shelf stuff fits. Who can handle this?

Oh and the engine has ARP studs tp and bottom...

So looking at cometic website, the MLX series are 5 layer, and are built slightly differently then the standard MLS, better for boost. The closest bore size they have to my engine is 4.060 and my bore is 4.010. Anyone see a problem with that? Also, I like that I can get it in various thickness...

Finally getting around to building my engine. Ls2, with a blower. Looking at head gasket options, and there is a ton to choose from. So what are you guys running with success? This is my first LS build, so I'm learning as I go. I have built many engines over the years, but never one of these.....

The car was a sand limo squirt+ with a j35A4 and a 2D. The engine was mostly stock with injectors, and a larger throttle body. And a Electromotive ECU. I did drive it heavy on the skinny peddle alot tho....

I had a 10 gallon tank in mine, did pretty good, on some long runs I would come back on fumes... 18 mpg is not going to happen, I never clocked mine but it was nowhere close. I ended up building a new 19 gallon tank and that was awesome

For what it would cost me to get there I could just buy 20 gallons of diesel....🤣 Too bad, I like free. Thanks anyway 👍🏻
