Beside the appearance what’s is the most notable difference between the gen 5 and gen 6? As far as as performance goes? I was at the show yesterday and saw the g52 roller chassis starting at 105k. There is a nice gen 5 on the market with a fresh lsx 454 and s5d for the same price.

Will this work with a mendeola s4?

I rebuilt mine myself and found it to be pretty easy. All in, It was probably about 800 bucks with the purchase of a nitrogen tank and fill regulator, seals and fluid. Gaining the knowledge to be able to do it made it worth while, especially if I want to make valving changes in the future.

I use the clutch in my s4. Especially when down shifting. Common sense tells me that taking the load off the gears is better for all the components in the transmission.
