when I had my quad I had the same thing happen. Tried to do it myself and failed miserably.. I was able to take it to Dubach racing and he repacked it for me and it was like new. Might be worth a call to ask.
I smoke my bird. I use meat church brine and honey hog seasoning. Comes out amazing. For bird choice, I try to find an organic one and also one that has not been frozen. Seems to come out great. I use Hickory wood chuncks and Charcoal for my heat.
Well, I tried multiple resistors and could not get it to work. Started at 1k ohms and even all the way down to 200 and the pump still ran when the ecu was off. Ended up wiring in a relay to solve the issue.
I would need to look in the AEM pin out and see if there is a high side fuel pump control. I am not sure if you can configure them in the software either.
So what I havw gathered is the MSD unit takes very little amperage to be triggered where a standard relay takes more. I was going to look into adding a resistor in line to the signal to try and avoid using a relay but I think the easier was is to just wire a relay inline and use the positive 12v...
